Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

This week's topic is: Top Ten Best/Worst Series Enders

*in no particular order

Let me first say that for these "worst" endings, or as I am calling them, "most unenjoyable", it's not that I ended up hating the book or regret reading the series. Not at all. I still enjoyed the series and everything, it was just that I was left with too many questions at the series ending and I don't like that when I know a series is over.

MOST UNENJOYABLE

1. DARK SWAN SERIES
by Richelle Mead

I just felt like the ending was a little disappointing. Choices that were made and how things aren't really settling down.

2. THE BLOODHOUND FILES
by DD Barant

Another one that was just a tad disappointing. Still a great series, but it was like we didn't know for sure what our heroine and heroes would do. It's one of those open-ended kind of things.

3.  SOUTHERN VAMPIRE NOVELS*
by Charlaine Harris
*Going with the original series name vs the one that it becomes known by later

I was just left wondering too much about other characters after this one. Hoping that After Dead satisfies my wonderings!

4. HEREAFTER SERIES
by Tara Hudson

While I knew this kind of ending was likely, I was still saddened to see it come. When one of the main characters is a ghost, you expect it, but I was still sad and it was the series ending and I didn't want to be left sad by the end. That's why I place this one here as well, but it was still an AMAZING read!

5. THE BODY FINDER SERIES
by Kimberly Derting

Another ending that just left me shocked! Plus I didn't want the series to end! I wanted to know so much more, but sadly it was the end.

That's pretty much the basis for my choosing all these series. They were all incredible, but with a few of them, I just had too many questions remaining that would likely never be answered or with others, I just wanted more! I didn't want to say goodbye, but for all of them, there was always more than one question that I had that just left me wondering in the dark.

Still would recommend reading all these despite their series endings!

BEST

6. HARRY POTTER SERIES
by J.K. Rowling

Definitely one ending that I truly enjoyed! The epilogue was a nice touch too, I know not many people liked it, but I still enjoyed it.

7. 13 TO LIFE SERIES
by Shannon Delany

Naturally this one is here!

8. THE IRON FEY CHRONICLES
by Julie Kagawa

I enjoyed this one a LOT! I think of this one as the ending to The Iron Fey Chronicles--believed that was what I recall hearing as the series name years ago. I think some people might not have enjoyed it, but I did! I thought it was a great way to end Meghan and Ash's combined story!

9. THE DEMON TRAPPERS SERIES
by Jana Oliver

Another series I enjoyed and was very happy with the way it ended!

10. SIGNS OF THE ZODIAC SERIES
by Vicki Pettersson

Had to find one adult series ending that I liked! This one I really did like how it ended! Thought it was perfect after everything Joanna went through! Now I just need to start Vicki's new series...

  1. Teaser: Kinda creepy... I do like the cover!

Top Ten: I still have to read The Iron Fey Chronicles, but I truly LOVED The Demon Trappers Series! Definitely one of my faves YA!

  2. Great list! I loved the HP ending, and Foretold was great, too. I didn't know that the Body Finder series is over, I read only the 1st one a few years ago, I need to catch up.

Here's my TTT, I listed only best series endings.

  9. Nice teaser. Angelfall is on my TBR pile, and I want to get to it before book 2 officially comes out.

  10. I gave up on Sookie a few books ago which seems like it was a good idea considering everyone's response to the end.

I hate when a series ends on a bad note.

  11. The actions in your teaser do not sound good. As for your top ten...I've only read two series mentioned. Loved how HP ended, and still have the last two Harris books to read. I have a feeling I'm not going to like how the series ends. My teaser: Saint’s Gate

  14. This reminds me of how many more series I need to finish. Although, if they all have poor endings, maybe I'm better off.

  15. Ooh. That sounds intriguing. I can't remember seeing this book before.

    Thanx for visiting my TT.

  16. Hmmmm I didn't really like Iron Knight because it felt to *neat* - and as much as I love Ash, I didn't need a whole book written from his rather angsty perspective! I'm glad you enjoyed it though!

  17. Here's to hoping one day Richelle will do a fifth Dark Swan. She's talked about it a few times. I need more Dorian! Maybe a few years down the road when Richelle and Eugenie's kids both will be older. Sadly, it seems you and I took Elegy differently. I put it in my best list today! Great list!

  20. Great teaser!! I finally got a copy of Angelfall, so I really need to read that soon. :)

  21. OMG, I totally forgot about Dead Silence, mainly because that book in no way signified the end of the series. I know there are no more planned, but it really needs another one. Thanks for visiting my TTT.

  25. I came really close to putting The Iron Fey series on my list, but held off. I liked the ending, but I was a little irritated with it also. Yeah, I haven't even read Dead Ever After. I doubt I will.
