Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

This week's topic is: Top Ten Popular Authors I've Never Read

*in no particular order

These are a mix of authors, some in genres I just don't read and others in my genre but still haven't read either way. Can't believe how hard this was!

1. Suzanne Collins
2. James Patterson
3. Lauren Oliver

4. Ally Condie
5. Veronica Rossi--although I keep debating about starting her trilogy!
6. Dan Wells

7. Laurell K. Hamilton
8. Katie McGarry
9. Cassandra Clare

10. Jodi Picoult--although Between the Lines is still on my TBR pile and will likely be the only book I ever read by her. (Unless she and her daughter write a sequel!)

  5. I haven't read most of these authors, but I will say that Suzanne Collins made me realize I can enjoy dystopian fiction. I don't want to read it on a regular basis--my daughter is big into Divergent and The Maze Runner--but an occasional dystopian is good for me.

I really want to read Clare so I can learn what the fuss is all about.

Thanks for visiting The Book Connection.

  6. I will say Suzanne Collins is one of my favorite authors! I would definitely give her books a chance, because she knows what she is doing. Please check out my TTT

  8. I've never read any of Jodi Picoult's YA books, but I do enjoy many of her other titles--The Pact is one of my favorite novels.

  9. I thought I was the only one with Suzanne Collins on their list! It's nice to know I'm not alone.

I've actually only read one of these authors (Oliver), and I didn't really love the book I read. Sometimes I miss out on something wonderful by not reading an author, and sometimes there is a reason why I skipped them...

    My list.

  12. I've read two authors from your list Suzanne Collins b/c of The Hunger Games (which is awesome) and Cassandra Clare, which she basically should be on my list b/c I've only read one book from her two series, City of Bones and that's all I wanted to read. Everyone says I should keep reading, but I just lost interest.

John Grisham and Lauren Oliver is on my list, they're just numbers 11 and 12 lol

  13. ooh, are you just not a dystopian fan? I'm guilty of loving Collins, Oliver, and Condie just from devouring different dystopian books! I just love Lauren Oliver as a person, too, she is so funny and sweet!

  15. Great picks! I have read quite a lot of these - Collins, Oliver, Condie, Wells, McGarry and Picoult. I love Jodi Picoult and own every book but I really hated Between The Lines if I am honest, it's my least favourite out of all her books. I hope you can cross off some of these authors soon :)
