Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!

So BEA...WOW! That was a totally awesome time and experience and yeah, lots of great reads to be picked up if I'm so lucky enough to snag them! Luckily, I got all that I was planning for, so I wasn't left upset about any books! I tried to be selective in my picking things up because I knew I had about 200 unread books at home. I've even weeded a few ARCs out that I might read later on or might just giveaway in a giveaway sometime soon! We shall wait and see I guess!

So for the past two weeks, I've acquired a lot of new reads! Ironically, I think I only really got 1 book last week while I was away, so yay?!

The Countdown by Kimberly Derting
The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder--yes, I already have this one! But when I went to HPB for a tent sale, didn't find anything there, but inside the store I found this beauty! In HARDCOVER! Don't I have a hardcover? Well, yes, and it is signed, but to someone else! I bought it at another bookstore awhile back, but I couldn't help but pick up this copy unsigned as it is! I figure next time I see Maria, I can have her truly personalize it to me! It was marked to $6 and then I used a 15% off coupon so it was practically a steal! A delightful steal that involved squeeing! LOL!
Divine Descendant by Jenna Black

Then I won this one last week as well:

Powerless by Tera Lynn Childs & Tracy Deebs--SIGNED by Tera!! One down, one to go! (in terms of signatures!)

Then for review I received

Awakened by Fire by Erin Kellison (ARC)--already read & reviewed!

THANK YOU Erin!!

Some pictures of my BEA haul, after I did a cleanse through!

The books I was gunning for:

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige
A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir
The King Slayer by Virginia Boecker
A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Happy Surprises:

Hope and Red by Jon Skovron
The Women in the Walls by Amy Lukavics
And I Darken by Kiersten White
The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles
Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova
Kingdom of Ash and Briars by Hannah West

Finished copies that I either bought or got:

Last Call at the Nightshade Lounge by Paul Krueger--SIGNED!
The Awakening of Sunshine Girl by Paige McKenzie--a total bargain as it was only $8 for the hardcover! I still need to read book 1, but I am a sucker for a bargain!
The Outliers by Kimberly McCreight--SIGNED! Been hearing good things about this one and I love a good thriller!
Doon by Carey Corp & Lori Langdom--SIGNED! I still need to start this series and decided I'd rather get book 1 signed than the ARC of book 4 that was also available. I'm weird I guess! LOL!
Return to the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz--SIGNED!
Everland by Wendy Spinale--SIGNED!
Color Me to Sleep--a coloring book that was out somewhere, so I thought, why not?!

So I really only bought the first three out of these, and felt rather good about that! That tiny blue book was just one that I got for free when I bought Last Call at the Nightshade Lounge. A little book of Everything a Woman Should Know...found some of the info a tad offensive though. Like how to throw a football, change a tire, parallel park, give a mind blowing, knock his socks off kiss...so yeah...not sure how I feel about that one! There wasn't a whole lot of interesting books to choose from when it came to getting my "free book". But it's no biggie!

Then I also got one of my preorder incentives, this one for A Court of Mist and Fury!! The tote is so cool! I think the last one I am waiting on is my The Rose and the Dagger print! Can't wait for that one to arrive either!

Sides 1 & 2! Now to read the book and find that quote!! :D

Yes, I'm terrible! I still need to read it! Though based on the cliffhanger I am hearing about, I feel wise in waiting...not sure how long I will be able to wait though. We shall see! Maybe I'll save it for when we drive, yes DRIVE to Florida! I think it's like 16 hours...so yeah...I'll want a long one! :D

And that was my incredible two week haul!! Pretty excited about everything I got too! What did you all get this week?

  4. I haven't read ACOTaR yet either - I think I'll just wait until the series is done (that is, assuming there's just one more).

  10. You were so tame at BEA!! And like everyone else, you got different books than I did :) So many good ones - awesome job!! You got ones I wanted to get but I just wasn't dedicated to fighting the crowds for A Shadow... and Three Dark Crowns. It's bad enough I sat in line for Gemina... *sigh*

Thanks for inadvertently reminding me that book two in the Hero Agenda series is coming out soon!! YAY!!!

    Have a great week!!

  11. OMG! I am so SO jealous of A Torch Against the Night! I have been hunting for someone who will let me read their copy once they're done, but everyone is holding on tight and I don't blame them! XD I hope to go to BEA next year so maybe I'll see you there if you decide to go after all! Have a great week! :D
