Random Thursday

Time to dust off the cover of the little book called That's a Fact Jack: A Collection of Utterly Useless Information [Updated] by Harry Bright and Jakob Anser! Haven't looked at this little book for months! So I was kind of happy to dive back into it! Until I uncover more Disney factoids that is! LOL!

"'Fore!' the warning yelled by weekend duffers after hitting an errant golf shot, was originally an English military term. Back when soldiers fired rifles in lines, the command 'Beware before!' was a signal for the front line to kneel or risk getting their heads blown off."

Wow! Didn't know that! Though it makes sense to use it now! Or else you might get whacked in the head with that little ball! LOL!

"The Spanish exclamation Ole!, commonly heard at bullfights and flamenco dances comes from Allah, which means 'Praise be to God'."

That's very interesting!! Now makes me think I should say Ole! Instead of "Praise be to God" in church! LOL!
