Stacking the Shelves

This weekly meme is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!

Well it was a slow week in the bookish world for me. And sadly, I was most upset with the condition of the one book I did receive:

Eleventh Grave in Moonlight by Darynda Jones--most devastated by the stupid ugly white circle that says "signed copy" that's ignorantly sitting on top of the stellar boot. It does NOT come off. It's apart of the cover. And I am MOST AGGRAVATED! Trying to find an unsigned copy but not having luck yet. :/ I'm one of those weird people who don't like stickers or other whatnot on my covers, marring the gorgeous cover art. Yeah, call it OCD if you want, I do! ;)

Happier news is that I received one of my preorder gifts! Ironically it's for Caraval, which hasn't quite released yet and the other preorder gifts I'm still waiting on are from books that are released! Ironic, no? LOL!

The ever awesome Caraval poster ready to color with the colored pencils, a neat backpack sack thingy and tattoos!! Working on straightening out the poster as mail travel left it wrinkly. :(

And then I caved...I told myself no more t-shirts. I have way too many. And I caved. I so caved. But it was bookish, I say! BOOKISH!!!

a cute little bookworm t-shirt! And as you can see, the apple is made of books! Here's the link if you want to buy one of your own!!

  1. Oh no!! Why would they make the 'signed copy' thing a part of the cover? Here in Switzerland, they seem to use superglue on the barcodes... and they sometimes put those at the front cover *shivers*
I hope you'll find an unsigned copy so your collection will be beautiful, Jessica!

  2. That's a bummer about the book, I hate when they make it a part of the book and you can't even peal the sticker off, I hate stickers too, but at least you can usually get them off.

    Have a great week!

  3. I can't believe they put that emblem on the book cover and not a sticker! I mean, come on. What idiot put it there of all places? It could have been discreetly tucked into the bottom left corner if it just HAD to be part of the cover. That is annoying.

  4. I hate stickers and extra “stuff” on book covers! Why do people think this is okay? No!

  5. I need to catch up on the Charley Davidson series! And stickers are so annoying and really ugly. I hope you enjoy the book even with the aggravation of the sticker. Thanks for stopping by my post, Jessica!

  7. I'm waiting on my Caraval preorder swag! Granted, I submitted my receipt rather recently (I completely forgot, to be honest). The book was AMAZING. <333 I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Jessica!

  9. The Caraval swag looks pretty good. I was disappointed with the Empire of Storms swag so I'm glad that this one looks good. I haven't heard of Eleventh Grave in Moonlight before but I really hope you enjoy it.

  10. I know what you mean about stickers on book covers! They basically just ruin the beauty of the book. That Caraval swag looks awesome!! Thanks for stopping by my blog, Jessica :)

  12. Stickers are seriously the bane of the bookworm, they should know how obsessive we are!

  13. I also don't like stickers on the covers of my books. Our library actually puts the barcode taped right over the gorgeous artwork instead of putting it inside the cover. I also have Caraval coming preordered (it's birthday is also my daughter's!). And the tee shirt is really clever. I shall resist...maybe.

  15. I don't keep too many paper books anymore but I used to be soo picky about them. Sorry they put the silly emblem there.

  16. Ack! I hate when they put the stickers in the cover!! :( They at least could use the kind that peels off cleanly!! I love all the Caraval stuff! I esp love the coloring poster!
