Harry Potter Spells Book Tag

I saw this tag pop up the other day! I can't believe I've never seen it before! Lol. It looked like fun so I decided to do it! From what I've found it was created by KimberlyFaye Reads! I've borrowed her images for the spell listing as well because they were too cool to pass up!

AN UPCOMING RELEASE YOU WISH YOU COULD GET YOUR HANDS ON RIGHT NOW

Since that list is still pretty long and I could even easily pick a handful of 2019 reads, I decided to choose one that was still from this year! And that of course is Ian's book, Shades of Wicked! LOOOOOVE Ian and have been dying for him to get a book all these long years! The wait is almost over!

FAVORITE SERIES STARTER

Ironically, I'd choose Halfway to the Grave, Jeaniene's first book that started all her numerous spinoffs! It was an awesome read that I couldn't get enough of!

A BOOK THAT GAVE YOU ALL THE WARM FUZZIES

Nocturne definitely gave me all the feels! All the messy, emotional feels!

A BOOK THAT MADE YOU UGLY CRY

There were so many books that did this! One that comes to mind (other than HP5 of course!) was Black Howl! That ending left me in afit of ugly tears!

BOOKISH HERO OR HEROINE YOU WANT AROUND TO PROTECT YOU IN REAL LIFE

I'd have t say Clay from Bitten! While he does come off a little strong and maybe overbearing, and let's ignore the fact that he changed Elena without asking her because he more than makes up for that over time! There's definitely something to be said about the loyalty and devotion a werewolf will show his mate! So yeah, I'd definitely like Clay watching my back! Lol.

A BOOK YOU INTENTIONALLY SPOILED FOR YOURSELF

Okay, to my knowledge, I never really intentionally spoil something for myself. Though there are times when my eyes might drift ahead too soon or I want to see how many pages are left in a chapter because I am getting tired and need to stop at a chapter marker. I feel like Harry Potter was a good example of this! I feel like I might have unintentionally spoiled myself for this one in the aforementioned situations. Or the fact that once I heard my at the time manager's daughter talking about who died I should have ran screaming down the aisles! LOL!

A BOOK YOU WISH YOU COULD MAKE EVERYONE READ BECAUSE YOU LOVED IT SO MUCH

You'll notice a trend with these books I am making "everyone" read! Since I positively LOVED and ADORED all these series and they were all canceled due to low sales, you can bet I'm making the world over read them so that the publishers will have to BEG the authors to write the final book! ;)

A BOOK SERIES YOU WISH NEVER ENDED

Kelley Armstrong's The Otherworld series was one of my favorites and I wish it never had to end! There were so many awesome characters that never got to tell their stories. Though in truth, I do believe that all good things must end, because otherwise you have a long running series that loses its edge because the books just keep coming and they don't contain that same magic they had as they did in the beginning.

A BOOK WITH AN UPLIFTING ENDING OR MESSAGE

While I do still cry over Nocturne and go back and forth about it's ending, I do see how it had a more uplifting message for the characters at the end.

A BOOK YOU WISH YOU COULD FORGET YOU EVER READ

Yeah...wish I could totally erase Twilight from my memory. This is what curiosity does to your sanity! Thankfully I don't have the best memory anymore, so a lot of books that I read and didn't like I can't remember what they were about. The memory for this series' details are fading as well!

AN AUTHOR WHOSE BOOKS ALWAYS GET YOU OUT OF A SLUMP

Though I've never found myself in a reading slump what with all the books I want to read, I can easily say that Jennifer L. Armentrout would pull me out of any such slump! I've read almost all of her books and loved them! All but her contemporaries since I don't read that genre!

A SWOON-WORTHY HERO OR HEROINE

So you could pretty much pick any JLA hero for this one! Lol! All her heroes have been extremely swoonworthy! Let's go with Julian since it's been ages since I read that one! Was always bummed that this series couldn't take off.

A BOOK THAT CAUSED YOU TO STOP DOING ALL OTHER THINGS UNTIL YOU FINISHED IT

Thanks to one of my besties for loaning me her ARC of The Darkest Star, I was able to read this one early! Not only was it a JLA novel, but it was a return to the Lux world! So I was all for reading this one every chance I got!

A BOOK THAT WAS PAINFUL TO READ (FOR WHATEVER REASON) OR BROKE YOU

It's not that Strange and Ever After was painful to read, it's more that the ending broke me. It broke me so entirely that the pieces are still somewhat fractured every time I think about it!

A BOOK THAT HAD YOU LAUGHING OUT LOUD

I tend to laugh out loud with quite a few books! Mostly because when I'm reading, I'm alone so I can do that! Lol. I even shout things out loud at the book/characters. Brave (and the rest of the Wicked series) had me LOLing because Tink is one funny little dude and it's hard to not laugh out loud when he speaks!

A BOOK THAT MADE YOU WANT TO SEND IT (OR YOUR EREADER) FLYING

Well, I had to dig deep for this one! I can't remember a book that made me want to throw it against the wall--which I'd never do because my books are my babies, lol! When searching through my blog posts I found Shadow Kiss! Then it all came back to me. That ending! OMG that ending!! It was definitely worthy of throwing the book across the room, which again, I didn't actually do! Lol. It was painful and then since I had just binge read these three books I had TO WAIT months for the fourth book!

BOOKISH WORLD YOU WISH YOU COULD VISIT

I think this one would be obvious! Lol.

A BOOK WITH A SHOCKING TWIST OR ENDING

Echoes was one mind-blowing read! It was a read that kept me on the edge of my seat with all the intrigue and mystery and just wow! I was positive that this was a standalone read, right until the very end when my mind was blown yet again! I NEED A SEQUEL!!!

A CHARACTER DEATH THAT DESTROYED YOU

Since I've already alluded to other character deaths that destroyed me (outside of Harry Potter because that one's a given!) I decided to go with one of the first deaths that ever destroyed me! 11 years later and I still can't say the name. But it happened in For a Few Demons More and I seriously think it was quite possibly my first character death. At least from when my reading life took off!

BEST SERIES CONCLUSION

There actually have been many series finales that I thought were just awesome and perfect! So I'm just going to choose Immortal Reign since it was one of my favorite series ever and it came to an end earlier this year! I thought it was pretty perfect with how it ended! There were very few tears from my recollection, so it was perfect!

And that's the end of the tag! Apparently it's been around since 2015 as that's when it first appeared! Almost three years to the day, Friday marks its anniversary date even! So perfect timing! If this looked like fun to you and you want in, consider yourself tagged!!

  1. OMG that Shadow Kiss ending was KILLER! And so with you on Julian from Unchained being amazing, I love that book even though is one of her lesser known books.
