12 Day of Christmas Book Tag

So I saw this tag the other day over at Paper Fury, it originated on Booktube with Lizzie Loves Books! I thought it sounded like fun and festive! So why not!

ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE.

The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favorite stand alone?

Hmm...from this year, I'd say one of my favorites is House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig! It's a retelling of The Worn Out Dancing Shoes, or more commonly known as The Twelve Dancing Princesses! It was a very dark retelling and I positively adored it!

ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: TWO TURTLE DOVES.

Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing?

Tella and Legend without question! That's my answer for this year at least! You can expect to see lots of Finale in my End of the Year Survey too!

ON THE THIRD DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: THREE FRENCH HENS.

In the spirit of threes, what is the best trilogy you have read?

You did read that little tidbit on the last one right? Lol! Since I did actually read the entire trilogy this year, I'm counting it! Plus I feel like the Caraval trilogy will always be my top favorite!

ON THE FOURTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: FOUR CALLING BIRDS.

Since series usually consist of four or more books, what is your favorite series?

This one ties with Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series--though I still need to get caught up with her spinoff series with IAN and her other trilogy--and Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series! I adored this series so much and was sadden when it came to an end without Cassandra's story, but oh well! It was still an amazing world series!

ON THE FIFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: FIVE GOLDEN RINGS.

One ring to rule them all! Who is your Favorite Villain/Antagonist?

Jacks was definitely one of those villains you couldn't decide if you hated or loved!

ON THE SIXTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: SIX GEESE A LAYING.

Creation is a beautiful thing. What is your favorite world/world-building?

Yes, Caraval is set in a world mostly like ours, but it's different. There's darkness and magic and old things that shouldn't exist, but do!!

ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: SEVEN SWANS A SWIMMING.

Who needs seven swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who’s your favorite animal sidekick?

An oldie, but goodie...sorta: Grimalkin from The Iron King! Of course referring to him as an animal wouldn't win any favors with him! Lol.

ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: EIGHT MAIDS A MILKING.

Milk is so 18th century. Which book or series takes beverages/food to a whole new level?

Like Paper Fury says, The Beautiful takes vampires and blood drinking to a whole new level! Despite the many DNF reviews and low star reviews I cam across for this one, I loved it! I'm a big vampire fan and I thought this one took things a little more on the classic side. I cannot wait for the sequel!

ON THE NINTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: NINE LADIES DANCING.

Dancing is just one skill of a Lady! Who is your favorite kickass female lead?

Gotta go with Tella on this one! She's definitely my favorite of the sisters, but Scarlett is a close second! Lol!

ON THE TENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: TEN LORDS A LEAPING.

How about your favorite leading lad?

Bet you thought I would say Legend! I mean, I was going to, but then I thought I'd mix it up so this isn't the 12 Days of Caraval Tag! Lol! Cade being the last hero I just read about it definitely makes it on my list! He may not have been the best in the beginning of the world series, but he's definitely grown on me over the many pop up appearances and now of course his and Marigold's series!

ON THE ELEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: ELEVEN PIPES PIPING.

What is your favorite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

Honestly the only one that came to mind was This Savage Song! Demons, music, it's got it all! Lol. And I still need to read the sequel!

ON THE TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: 12 DRUMMERS DRUMMING.

Drum roll please…what is your favorite read of this year?

Top three favorites that came to mind were Finale (SHOCK, I know!), House of Salt and Sorrows, and Bloodleaf!
