ARC Review--Wicked All Night by Jeaniene Frost

Set in the Night Huntress World, ancient deities are poised to wreck havoc, unless vampires Veritas and Ian can stop them!

A gift from the gods…

Veritas and Ian have finally defeated their worst enemy, but the power it took to pierce through to the netherworld has unexpected consequences. Soon, Veritas is forced to rely on the last person she trusts---a golden deity named Phanes, who seeks far more than a temporary alliance with the beautiful vampire.

Can unleash hell…

But an escape from the netherworld soon pits Veritas and Ian against supernatural beings seeking to rule over mortals once again.  Now, they must rally friends and foes alike—if the vampire council doesn’t execute Veritas first. Plus, a wedge between Veritas and Ian threatens to destroy their love. Can they stand together against the unearthly powers about to be unleashed? Or does their love—and humanity—not stand a chance?

I received this ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest and voluntary review. I was in no way compensated for this review.

Well, all good things must come to an end, and sadly, Ian's series is coming to an end with Wicked All Night! Jeaniene Frost is set for one incredible adventure starring Ian and Veritas and it's going to be one that will keep you on your toes to say the least!

When we last left Veritas and Ian, Ian was near death but healing and Veritas suddenly meets her betrothed Phanes. According to him, her father arranged their marriage before she was even born and he has come to collect his bride. But Veritas has other ideas in mind, especially when Phanes admits he's not really interested in a marriage either. She agrees to go with him to his home palace so he can save face to his people with his bride, if he will heal Ian. She plans to spend just one night and day with Phanes, and should be back before Ian is even on his feet.

But we all know, that was never going to happen. Ian awakens and he is p-oed that his wife has flown the coop without him. After a rounding bit of Ian being Ian and kicking butt and taking names, we learn that Veritas' father is trapped in the underworld and Phanes agrees to help her and Ian go in and rescue him. This was also part of the lure to get her to come to his palace. Let's just say that things, once again, don't go quite as planned.

This book was a whirlwind of a read that held me riveted with every page turn! I love being in the Night Huntress world again! Though it does make me wonder, if Jeaniene is truly done with this world just yet since this is Ian and Veritas' last book. We've met quite a lot of characters in this world and we've read stories from them all! Since last year was the crapstorm that it was, the publishing world was chaos as we all know. I haven't really heard anything from Jeaniene's end about future books, but needless to say that whatever she chooses to write, I'll be there! Lol!

This book was exceedingly well paced! It's filled with various levels of action that just never seem to stop! All leading up to an ending that was positively perfect! Though, is it me, or does it seem like there's not as much romance scenes as the previous books in this world used to have. I'm not complaining or saying it's a bad thing, but I felt like in the past we could always expect 2-3 scenes and these days it feels like it's just one. Again, I'm not really complaining, just wondering if this is something I'm only noticing or not.

I did like that we once again get cameo appearances from our favorite past characters, like Cat and Bones, mostly Cat on that front as it felt like Bones didn't have much to say such as Vlad and Mencheres! We also got to see Spade and Denise again! It feels like it was a longer time since we saw them last. Though that can also be due to the fact that I have a terrible memory and might not recall seeing them recently.

Wicked All Night was yet another delightful and amazing Jeaniene Frost read! Jeaniene has a real way with words and always tells a captivating story! I'm eager to learn what other stories she will have for us in the future!

Overall Rating 5/5 stars
