Fantasy Favorites Tag

 

So I was scrolling through Instagram last week and saw this fun tag over at @stacisbookishprobs! I also borrowed her gorgeous image you see above because as I've stated numerous times, I have zero tech skills. Even after all this time! Staci originally saw it over at @libraryofshaina's page. I thought it looked like fun and was simple enough and it's been sooo long since I did a fun tag like this I couldn't resist! But again, zero tech skills so you see me doing it here on my blog versus Instagram!

FIRST FAVORITE FANTASY:

The first fantasy fantasy that comes to mind--as one of my earlier ones was more like time-travel fantasy, so I'm putting that as another genre category entirely, lol--is Maria V. Snyder's Poison Study! I kinda love telling this story because it predates blogging. I would occasionally get book recommendations from Amazon based on other things I've purchased and one day they recommended Magic Study to me and the cover was beautiful! So I clicked the link to read what it was about, Amazon apparently thought I would like book 2 more than book 1, but luckily I caught that it was a sequel pretty quickly, like within the first sentence. So I stopped reading that and immediately searched for this book! Went to Borders stat and bought myself the MMPB edition and it was pretty much love at first read after that!

FAVORITE FANTASY CHARACTERS

To the surprise of no one new, my favorite character is definitely Tella from the Caraval series! We meet her fully in Legendary and I just LOVE that girl! She was feisty and brave and had the kind of attitude I love seeing in heroines! I would totally be besties with this girl!

FAVORITE FANTASY WORLD

Did I shock you again? Lol. Set in the same Caraval universe, Once Upon a Broken Heart largely takes place in The Magnificent North and omg, the way this place was described is just GORGEOUS! The map in the beginning definitely adds to its beauty! I would so want to visit this place!

FAVORITE FANTASY VILLAIN

I know, I'm killing you with the Garber picks, but seriously, they are the FIRST things that come to mind! In Finale, we continue to see Jacks as the villain, right until you don't, but then he still is. As you may know, we continue his story (somewhat) in the OUABH trilogy and he's still villainous in the first and partially second books...so I am going to call him my favorite [redacted] villain.

FAVORITE FANTASY FOOD

Rockin it old school with this one! In Heartless, we learn Catherine's passion in baking and I loved reading about the treats she makes! I can't really remember them all, but pretty sure there were some tarts involved! Lol.

FUTURE FANTASY READ:

The one I am itching to read comes out soon! Until the World Falls Down is pitched as Beauty and the Beast meets The Labyrinth! Which I LOVED both as a child so I am dying to read this book! Depending on when my preorder arrives, I am hoping to read it almost straight away! Lol. I can't say right away because if I am in the middle of something I won't be able to stop reading it and if it's what I think I might possibly be reading, I will have one more book ahead of it! So yeah...we'll have to wait and see how "right away" it will be! But really, really close, that's for sure!
