Serial Reading
How do you feel about serial reading? Where an author will post a chapter or two or however much at a time weekly, monthly, what-have-you length of time? Are you a fan of this? Do you read them as they come or do you prefer to wait and binge it?
Honestly, for me, it would depend! Lol. I know there are sites that do this and how many authors got discovered. I had an author who would do this in her newsletters which could be sporadic. At this time they might have been more monthly...or quarterly and I would read whatever she had in these newsletters at that time! Yes, me reading a short story in droves! It was insane! Lol.
I have a spotty memory these days. I guess its because I read sooo much that I can't always keep every story straight. But once I dive back into that world--as long as it hasn't been super long--I can usually vaguely recall things through the characters' recap or version of a recap!
It can be hard, I will say that. If I could chose, I would rather read the novel/story in its completed format start to finish! Serial reading can be fun, I will admit that. But I can't say I always remember the before chapters when it comes to the new chapters!
What's your take on serial reading? Do you like reading a few chapters every week/month? Or would you rather wait for the completed story and read it all at once?
