Over the last two or three years now we've been noticing an increase in how GORGEOUS books are looking lately, particularly with their edges! I mean honestly, why did it take publishers so long to realize they could be making the pretty books even prettier? Book Boxes like Fairy Loot have been doing the pretty edges for a few years long but they are now becoming more main stream.
Favorite Edges Feature
So my question for you is, what's your favorite feature to these "pretty" sprayed edges? Do you like the solid sprayed edge or even an ombre? Basically just coloring on the edge.
Do you prefer stenciling either color on color or just stenciling on the plain page?
Or is the "imager" your favorite? And by this I mean the ones that are more advanced and have like a character image on the edge (you'd see this from book boxes or other companies like them) or other imagery so to speak like with The Shield of Sparrows which had leaves/greenery kind of thing going on.
While I pretty much love them all, I think my favorite tends to be the stenciling! Especially color on color. Basically not just the colored stencil on the plain page like the OG Fourth Wing (I would do pictures of all these examples, but alas, all these books are in storage, of course! Lol). Those are nice, but after decades of plain pages, I LOVE these colored pages and I LOVE it even more when they have a second colored stenciling! They are just soooo pretty! I am DYING to find a place to live so I can set my shelves up and have these gorgeous edges facing out like they deserve to be! Lol.
What's your favorite kind of customization to see on the book edges? Do you have a favorite or do you like them all?
