Teaser & Top Ten Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Purple Princess of The Purple Booker

Here are the rules:

1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a page
3. Pick out 2 lines that are SPOILER FREE
4. Name the title, author, etc.

"Manny's face was hidden behind of all things, one of Twyla's more salacious romance novels, which, at age nine, he could neither understand nor appreciate (or so she hoped). He shouted, 'Would you shut up, Sal? I'm trying to read!' to which Sal retorted, rather predictably, 'You shut up!' From somewhere deeper inside the house, possibly her bedroom, Twyla could hear Teo pitching a fit and Wade's helpless pleading with him to 'Stop touch the poo! Don't touch! Poppy no-no!'" p 110

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and The Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week's topic is: FREEBIE/THROWBACK: Top Ten Punny Titles!

*in no particular order
**some funny, some serious, but punny! Lol

10. THE PURLOINED POODLE by Kevin Hearne--a spin on Poe's The Purloined Letter!
9. THE BEAUTY OF BEING A BEAST by Jennifer Estep--a spin on the tale as old as time!
8. FANG FICTION by Kate Stayman-London--fan fiction, fang fiction...we all love it!

7. KILL THE FARM BOY by Delilah S. Dawson & Kevin Hearne--I grew up loving a certain farm boy and this title is just plain old funny!
6. SILENT NIGHT, HAUNTED NIGHT by Terri Garey--a ye old Christmas tale with ghosts...I assume. It's a TBR read.
5. COACHING FIRE by Victoria Laurie--she of the punny titles! This series (that I still need to start!) has titles with phrases where one would normally seeing "catching" but uses "coaching" since Cat is a life coach!

4. THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UNDEAD by Kim Harrison--every Hollows title is a Clint Eastwood movie with a slight adjustment! I love them!
3. LET THEM EAT STAKE by Sarah Zettel--another TBR pick that's punny because it's just a spelling thing! Lol.
2. BETTER HOMES AND HAUNTINGS by Molly Harper--yet another TBR book! Who needs gardens anyway?

1. GHOULS JUST HAUNT TO HAVE FUN by Victoria Laurie--Victoria's titles across the board were the best! Usually punny in some fashion if they were among here cozy paranormal reads!
