This week's question is: Would you rather read a book with terrible writing but a good story or a book with a terrible story but good writing? (submitted by Snapdragon @ Snapdragon Alcove)
MY ANSWER: I guess I would rather read a book with a good story but less than stellar writing. I don't want to say "terrible" because that feels harsh. We all have different ideas of "amazing" and "terrible" and regardless, a writer pours the heart and soul into a book and I don't want to say that the writing was "terrible" even if it wasn't my cup of tea.
So, yes, I would rather have an amazing story. I've read books before that I felt like the story was really, really good and the writing was maybe not as good, but the story helped. Sometimes it was just little things that might have annoyed me but the story itself was what kept me going!
