Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Reading Reality.

Oh what a week this was. It started off fine. But then New Year's Eve, it happened. I felt a tickle in my throat. Woke up New Year's Day feeling completely wrecked. I had finally caught the cold that my niece had who gave it to my mom who had it all throughout Christmas. I had done so well to keep distance, but I guess NYE when we went out to dinner, it was too soon as I was coughing later that night and woke up feeling like trash the next morning. Which I went to bed around 10, so yeah, it wasn't from partying all night. Lol. Work was unbearable just because I could barely keep my eyes open. Still struggling with that now in fact. Daytime cold medicine just knocks me out cold. I don't understand these Dayquil commercials about going all day strong, all day long. Me? I take it and am passed out in my bed like I took Nyquil instead. Which ironically woke me up exactly 8 hours after I took it as my symptoms started acting up again since the 8 hours or so were over and I couldn't fall back asleep yet was too tired to get out of bed to track down more medicine. Maybe I ought to take the daytime stuff before bed. Lol.

In book news, the missing book that had been sitting at the distribution center since the 17th finally showed up! And wouldn't you know it it came the day before my replacement copy came! I was like seriously? But I'm not out of the woods yet as an order I placed right at Christmas is experiencing a similar delay, yet this time it seems to be up in the KC area. I really hate this UPS Sure Post as I feel like THIS is where my issues come from. This handoff from UPS to USPS. USPS is supposed to be receiving it but that was back on the 27th. I get delays, but I don't like being without updates, like actual updates. Give me something concrete, something reliable. So yeah, that's the newest shipping headache.

I did see I got my refund for my stepdad's Christmas gift that never left the first UPS facility in GA. Likely never buying from that store online again! That was nuts! We're supposed to be getting a winter storm today as well, I think the weather forecast was saying it starts late last night and will carry into today. This is when I'm glad I work from home! Lol. Don't have to worry about it or anything. A snow day would be unlikely in any event as my company is across that states, ironically in very warm places like CA, AZ, and FL who hardly ever see snow, so yeah, no snow days for us. But I don't have to drive in it, so I am happy. Mostly. I can't breathe right just yet so not totally happy. Also haven't been able to read my book since the New Year so, yeah, not exactly happy. I've either been napping, dozing, or working or finally sleeping at night once I've taken my cold medicine. Really need to get rid of this thing so I can read. I've missed so many good reading days already because of this dang cold!

Here's what I got this week:

A Cruel Thirst by Angela Montoya--the book that took over 2 weeks to get to me! Freaking crazy! Someone at the USPS distro must have x-ray vision and was reading it that whole time as the box was intact when it arrived. But I'm still very suspicious!
The Sky Weaver by Kristen Ciccarelli--hoping to read this trilogy after I finish Bray's quartet as this author is visiting St. Louis in February but with my cold, I have no idea if I will achieve this goal!

And that was it for me this week! What all did you get?
