Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Reading Reality.
Well, I survived another week. My cold is still lingering, but I am getting better. I was able to read this week at least and I fell behind on my Goodreads challenge because I didn't pick up my book until day 6 of 2025 and I was only 100 pages or so into a 500+ page book. So yeah, that wasn't too smart of me, or just exceedingly bad timing on my cold! I'm going with the latter. We had a snowstorm blow through sometime late on Sunday, I think it might have started midday and lasted into Monday. Schools were closed, businesses were closed and society shutdown completely because in the Midwest, though we are used to these conditions, we somehow don't have enough manpower to handle it completely. Luckily working from home, I didn't have to deal with any of the roads. Until Tuesday when I had a book signing! Surprisingly the signing was not canceled as many were canceled Monday (okay the one was canceled, but the bookstores AND the libraries were all closed too)! I got to meet Kristin Cast and finally get the answer to what would have happened with her The Escaped series...sadly it was not a happy answer, but there you go. There's still maybe a dash of hope that she might return to it, but you know how it goes with canceled series...and me with my luck. Other than that the week was pretty mundane...except for my shipping woes. Because yes, there are more! I placed a Target order on Sunday for the sale that week and alllllll week long my order kept being out for delivery only to be delayed due to weather conditions. It's Saturday night. I STILL do not have my order. I saw a UPS AND a FedEx truck out today (Saturday). It was delayed AGAIN due to "weather conditions." Today I cry BS. Yes, we had more snow on Friday, but the trucks HAVE BEEN OUT ALL WEEK LONG. There is no excuse as to why they KEEP refusing to deliver to me. I am once again, livid. Apparently my horrendous shipping luck of 2024 has been extended for 2025 as this was my FIRST order of ANYTHING for 2025 and it's been DELAYED FOR A WEEK! They say they will "deliver" it Monday...I no longer know what to believe of them because today was perfectly fine and they could have/should have delivered it today after 5 days of just skipping me. I went out on the roads Tuesday, they would have been fine. So yeah...I'm once again very, very disgruntled with the mail carrier services. Our actual USPS mail took a few days off as well because of "weather" conditions and then everyone got Thursday off after all their snow days, so I was just like WTF. If I had had any books coming I would be soooooo angry because they obviously would not be here this week at all. But I guess, thankfully, I didn't have anything preordered.
Really, I only got one book this week and it was thanks to my signing! Lol.
