Stacking the Shelves--The Indie Bookstore Day Edition

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Reading Reality.

Another week down in the books. Another boring week too. It was just uneventful once again, so you know, whatever! Lol. Yesterday was fun for Indie Bookstore Day! I hiked out to my favorite store Main Street Books in the Historic Old St. Charles area and bought a few books. Sadly the blind date with a book did not pan out at all. This time around there was even less hints to go on for what the book was about and the one I got was of zero interest, so that will be going into a Free Little Library the next chance I get. It's truly the reason why I hate blind dates with books. These started out so well at MSB. Some years ago, they actually hid the title in the wrapping, so I could peek at them this way as this was when I used to get ARCs from the publishers too. Then they stopped doing that, but gave a few trope or plot hints, like enemies to lovers YA Fantasy or something like that. This year it was just straight up YA Fantasy, Adult Fiction. So I was like, this is not going to be good...and it wasn't. :( But I did come out with two books I bought, a fun new bookmark, plus a yummy cookie that was still slightly warm from the cookie shop down the street! So it was still a win!

Here's what I got this week:

The Twisted Throne by Danielle L. Jensen--sooo I had the first 4 books in the series from Fae Crate. And since the series has been republished with a major publisher, they redid the covers. It was/is unclear and unknown if Fae Crate will finish out the series and while I wasn't a super fan of these covers, I did like the concept and the map on the naked hardcover, so I bought Danielle's special edition of this one. I was told the size is slightly taller than Fae Crate's, but I'd rather have the matching theme more than the matching size and theme or you know having two rando books to add to the series in general. So there you go!

Now Comes the Mist by Julie C. Dao--this had been on my maybe TBR list for awhile and I decided to buy it today when I saw it at the bookstore! It was the last copy, so clearly it was meant to be!
Nightweaver by R.M. Gray--I had been debating about this one for awhile as well and when I saw there was only 2 copies left, I knew it was fate once again! Of course, I found this one first, so really Julie's book was fate once again! Lol.

Then I also bought more bookmarks...I know I didn't need them, but MSB had the first one on the left and it was so cute! The second I bought at a super tiny little street corner party at my sister's neighborhood! Once I saw the cute little metal bookmarks in this size I knew I wanted one because it would work perfectly in my MM PBs!

the one on the left is a cute axolotl with the "I like to read A'lotl" message
the next one is a small metal one that has "a room without books is like a body without a soul" It was one of the more bookish ones that they had. The rest were cats and books and I'm not much of a cat person. I like them, but we tended to have dogs more than cats growing up, though we did have cats for two periods of time!

And then finally, I received my preorder gift for The Otherwhere Post! I was just starting to wonder about this one as I was getting close to the countdown of weeks after publication and it arrived at last!

I received washi tape

THANK YOU Penguin Teen!

And that was it for me this week! What all did you get?
