Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Reading Reality.
What a week! I can't believe how fast this month is flying by! I mean the days usually fly after Halloween! It's crazy! This was a pretty decent week. Not much in the mail. I think for the most part I am done with the Spectacular stressing! Lol. I do have one order that's in-route from Italy, but since it's not like the first print run and then it's gone forever, I am not as stressed about it. I haven't checked tracking in awhile either. My Christmas shopping is...almost done. Sorta. Still need to buy one or two things for my stepdad and pickup something little to go with one of my mom/stepdad shared gifts; it should be pretty standard at Walmart, so I just need to go there and hopefully find it and get it! I just need to ask my mom about what to get him in the variety section and then pickup (hopefully) a gift card to their favorite local restaurant! But otherwise it's all done and my wrapping is like 97% done. Have to wrap the stuff I still need to buy, lol, and my niece and nephew's gifts. I wanted to see if they need to be charged up or something as I might charge them on the 24th so they'll have juice in them the next day. Just haven't looked at that yet. But yeah, I am on a roll!!
I did have a disaster moment on Friday where I tried to buy a Rebecca Yarros tour ticket since she's coming to ST. LOUIS! I was at checkout, created my account, picked my seat, entered my cc info and hit submit...and nothing happened. I had 15 minutes to checkout or I'd lose my ticket and everything. I kept trying...I kept trying to message the bookstore asking for help or advice as the site was NOT MOVING. Then it happened. The site KICKED ME OUT and put me at the end of the queue. Tickets sold out and I did not get my ticket that I attempted multiple times to purchase. Front row seat and everything. And within seconds people were selling their extra tickets on Stub Hub sites for $300-$500. I was not at all pleased that they were allowing you to buy 4 tickets at once! Honestly, it should've been 1 per person per transaction because how could they NOT KNOW resellers would be all over it? I did see a message they were trying to cancel these resale ticket numbers and possibly reinstate them to the waitlist or something, but I have not heard anything more on it. I reached out to the bookstore and explained my dilemma but I assume they are getting so many hateful messages that they are just ignoring every single one of them. So yeah, major disappointment Friday. Luckily I had baked cookies for relatives who came into town, so I drowned my sorrows in sugar.
Here's what I got this week:
Character art!
