This week's question is: Is there a book or series so precious to you that you wouldn’t want it adapted for screen, fearing it might be ruined? If it did happen, would you still find yourself watching it? (submitted by Mark @ Carstairs Considers)
MY ANSWER: Honestly? I'm not sure. There are series I LOVE that I would love to see adapted into a TV series or movie. I mean, yes, I'd be scared but I would also be curious to see what they do. There's always a love/hate kind of relationship with an adaptation. Like I had a BELOVED book turned into a movie and the movie was AWFUL as a book-to-film adaptation. But if it was just a movie with said werewolf romance theme, it would be pretty good.
So I would greet the adaptation with trepidation but also some hopeful excitement. For example purposes, I'll go with Meg Cabot's The Mediator series. For the longest time it was with a company to be adapted but their time limit ran out or something and I don't know if landed with another producing team or not.
