Review--Pride
PRIDE
Here's hoping cats do have nine lives
I’m on trial for my life. Accused of infecting my human ex-boyfriend—and killing him to cover up the crime. I’m not guilty. But tell that to the panel of Alphas sitting in judgment. Infecting a human is one of three capital offenses recognized by the Pride—along with murder and disclosure of our existence to a human.
I’m two for three. A goner. On top of that, Marc is in danger of being tossed from the Pride, then we discovered a rogue stray terrorizing the mountainside, hunting a wild teenage tabbycat. I think I can protect her from both the ambitious rogue and the scheming of the territorial council.
If I survive my own trial…
Pride is available for pre-order at Barnes and Noble, Borders, Books-A-Million, and Amazon.
RELEASES FEBRUARY 1 2009!!!
So I'm surfing the web and checked Rachel Vincent's blog and I see this contest to enter, all I have to do is mention her latest release Pride, that comes out on Sunday, but it's probably on the shelves now. All I have to do to enter this contest is mention said book and the contest itself, in a personal blog. Since I didn't have one I just up and created my first one with the same blogging network as Rachel. So here it is, my first ever blog!!
This is a fantastic read for all urban fantasy lovers. Do NOT be turned off by the book because it is found in the romance section of the store, while there is some romance in the book, it is nothing to graphic like you would find in an actual romance book. This is really an urban fantasy book with action and even a little bit of blood!
This is the third novel in Rachel Vincent's Shifter series and it is a FAN-TAB-U-LOUS read! The first novel Stray and the second novel Rogue lead Faythe on a wild rollar coaster ride that has become her life. Being dragged away from college in book one due to kidnappings of female werecats, which is what she is, to having a stalker Werecat (for they are not werewolves in this series, but panther-like cats)murder people and put the blame on her. Which leads to this fantastic third novel that has her trial for the events that happened in Rogue, Shifters book 2! The next novel, Prey, comes out July 1 2009 and I am already counting the days.
Rachel's work is really extraordinary, told from Faythe's point of view, we see the world she lives in where being a female werecat is extremely rare since males are the dominant sex in werecats. Faythe is sassy and has a smart mouth which is expected from always being treated like a delicate flower, a thing she really doesn't like. She says exactly what's on her mind and what anyone would say if someone was being a pain in the you know what!
So if you're looking for something so fan-freaking-tastic to read then I strongly recommend reading Rachel Vincent's Shifter series. It would help greatly to read them in order too, and since this is a fairly new series you can be caught up REALLY easily.
