Rick Yancey Signing & Giveaway!

So last weekend I decided to take a little roadtrip. This was before my mom told she was getting married the Friday before and it basically resulted in a very short weekend with me being so very tired, but it was worth it in the end!

Except for the traffic that hit just minutes before getting home, which resulted in me needing to get off said highway and drive DOWNTOWN which I HATE to do! And get incredibly lost and my GPS was super slow to keep up with me being lost and giving me the correct direction before I got in the wrong lane...but that's in the past!

Anyway, I drove to Nashville, TN to see Rick Yancey because prior to, I was up for a roadtrip and seeing an author! I met Rick back in Naperville when The Infinite Sea came out, but I felt the need to see him again to get the final book signed for my collection! LOL! Us booknerds need to keep things consistent!

It was a really nice signing too! Parnassus Books was a neat little indie store! They had dogs just walking around! Like other stores with cats, but here there were DOGS! It was funny to because at one point when someone asked Rick a question and just as he was about to answer, one of the dogs started barking! LOL! It was funny!

Turns out I was the one who drove the furthest to see Rick, 5 hours I say!! Funny how that usually ends up happening for me and nearly any signing I go to that's not directly in St. Louis! LOL! I got some cool swag out of it as well!

a SIGNED teaser poster for the movie The 5th Wave!

a cool little backpack with the famous quote on it! Also SIGNED!

And naturally, the best part of me going somewhere is that I always get an extra copy SIGNED for you guys! Also because I couldn't wait to read this one and had to buy a book as well to get in the signing line! Initially I thought it had to be The Last Star, but that wasn't the case! But oh well! I'd rather buy the newest book anyway!

So YOU get a chance to win a SIGNED copy of The Last Star by Rick Yancey! All you have to do is fill out the rafflecopter form below! This giveaway is open to US ADDRESSES ONLY. So that means if you're international and have someone in the US who can get the book to you, you're in!

Behold, the prize!!

  1. How awesome! I didn't even make it to the recent area book signings so I have to say that I am bit jealous of your road trip. I love the idea of a bookstore with dogs. I would love going there! Sorry that you had to drive in downtown but it sounds like it worked out in the end. I am glad that you had a good time. I hope to read this series soon.

  2. I own the first two books and haven't read them yet. :) I'm not much of a movie person, so I haven't and will not watch the movie.

  3. I haven't started this series yet, but I will definitely read it befoer ever seeing the movie. I can't enjoy a book after a movie and I prefer to read rather than watch.

  8. Thanks so much for this great opportunity, hope to see you soon at a local signing, it's been a while!! Anyway, so impressed you drove all the way to see Rick, wow 5 hrs!!! that's dedication! As for 5th wave, it's addictive to be sure, and no wonder people like it. I have to say I liked Infinite sea better than 5th wave, because I think Ringer is awesome sauce, and way more fun to be in her head than Cassie's. So I'm interested to see what the Last Star has to bring to the table. I haven't seen the movie because it got so bad reviews. Christina @ Ensconced in Lit
