Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Reading Reality.
It was another week. A long one too it felt like. Work is getting busier by the day and that can be its own stress sometimes. But it's all good, I guess. Lol. I attended a book signing this week. Rachel Harrison came back to St. Louis so I decided to go and it was fun! More stress came this week when I saw I was getting my books delivered on Thursday, but I noticed that I was missing one...one that shipped LAST FRIDAY. I immediately checked tracking and the last update I received was on LAST FRIDAY when it was "starting" its journey, i.e. a label was likely created or whatever B&N says is the first step. And that's it. Even now, the email says CHECK BACK LATER FOR DELIVERY ETA! I immediately contacted B&N because this was past the 6 day mark of what delivery is supposed to be for Members. But alas, they cannot/will not do anything. Yes, the book shipped. Yes, it's passed the six days. But wayyyyyy back when I preordered this book it gave me an ETA of September 17th, 6 business days after the book's release. So they will not step in until that date. The kicker? That book that I was SO HAPPY that shipped LAST FRIDAY was for a signing I am to attend on Tuesday, which is only business day 5 of B&N's timeline. So I had to do the thing I HATE doing and go out to B&N buy the book off the shelf so I will have it for when I need it. I mean, seriously ANY OTHER TIME I would just be ticked off because my preorder is lost and B&N won't do anything about it until it meets their deadline. But when the book is one I NEED ON TIME I get livid! I can't tell you how freaking RELIEVED I was last Friday when I saw that the very book I NEEDED had shipped! SOOOO MUCH RELIEF! And then when the books that shipped AFTER it all arrived on Thursday and this one was LITERALLY NOWHERE IN SIGHT...!! I get soooo aggravated. I know it's not B&N Customer Service's fault, it's whoever is doing the shipping or it's UPS Sure Post not picking it up or misplacing it. Because I know from past experience, at this point? It is lost.
But other than that stressful, stressful, EXTREMELY STRESSFUL drama, the week was just mundane. The signing was fun, but still a wee bit stressful as the bookstore really likes this location that is not in the best of areas. Really no idea why they like this location. I'm sure the owners are friends and all, but this place is not the greatest for a single gal going alone which is what I unfortunately have to do EVERY time.
But anyway, onto the goods! Here's what I did get in the mail this week because B&N can deliver things on time...some of the time. Just not when it's VITAL!
The House of Quiet by Kiersten White
House of Idyll by Delilah S. Dawson
We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer--saw this one somewhat randomly on IG this week and it sounded creepy good, so I had to pick up a copy
Blood Moon by Britney S. Lewis--THIS is the book that B&N lost but won't say they did until the 17th and my signing is on the 16th. So you see why I had to buy a copy in the store.
