"Ursula smiled another one of her wicked grins. It was the sort that made you certain she was conjuring a plan. And she did indeed have a plan..." p. 41

TITLE: Poor Unfortunate Soul
AUTHOR: Serena Valentino
PUBLISHER: Disney Press
GENRE: Disney Retelling
RELEASE DATE: July 26, 2016

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week's topic is: Books On My TBR I’m Avoiding Reading and Why (maybe you’re scared of it, worried it won’t live up to the hype, etc.) (submitted by Caitlin @ Caitlin Althea)

*in no particular order

10. THE CAGE by Megan Shepherd--I think it was because of the so-so reviews I read. But it still sounds like an amazing read to me!
9. LAIR OF DREAMS by Libba Bray--it's size! SO intimidating for me these days!
8. LOW MIDNIGHT by Carrie Vaughn--it just got lost in the TBR pile, I mean I know where it's at, but its priority has dimmed. The time away from the series has me worried about comprehension too.

7. A WICKED THING by Rhiannon Thomas--another one that just got lost in the TBR pile...though I still really want to read it!
6. THE BROKEN GIRLS by Simon St. James--will this be spooky enough?
5. RENEGADES by Marissa Meyer--initially wanted to binge as a duology then it became a trilogy and then time just got away from me and man are they huge!

4. SHADES OF WICKED by Jeaniene Frost--I really don't know why! *sobs*
3. GLASS SWORD by Victoria Aveyard--I had wanted to wait until the series was all done before I binged the rest...now it's a matter of time!
2. THE DARKEST PART OF THE FOREST by Holly Black--worried that it won't be faery enough!

1. THE RETURN by Jennifer L. Armentrout--I've run out of excuses. Time is still an issue though.

  1. Time is an issue for a lot of us! It makes sense to prioritize what you read.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

  2. Libba is an author I know I need to get to but haven't yet for some reason. The Broken Girls was so mega-hyped and then fell off the face of the book world, it does make me wonder; however, I enjoy a dark, discussion-provoking book so I'll likely commit to that one soon too.

  4. I want to read the whole Libba Bray series but haven't started yet. I did read Going Bovine by her and LOVED it. It's so underrated. I have always been curious for Broken Girls as well. Some great books here for you to get to!

  5. I know many others who disagree, but I'm no fan of big books. It takes a lot of convincing for me to go ahead and jump into a long book.

  9. Nice teaser and list. It's easy to picture Ursula from the teaser. My Teaser is from a mystery this week by Larissa Reinhart.

  11. I bailed on the Red Queen books. Glass Sword was such a chore to read. I just had to call it a day.

  12. The Cage is a big old nope! I thought I was going to LOVE it but it was bad. :/

  13. Great list... I want to read a few of the books on your list.

  14. I can relate to wanting to wait for a series to be over before you read it ... and then not getting to it. I actually liked The Cage---not my favorite book or anything, but it was enjoyable.
