Stacking the Shelves--Signings, Sales, & Coupons

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

Well this was an okay week overall, mostly because I was off for 4/5 days! Lol. I took Tuesday off to go but my copies of The Queen of Nothing, then Wednesday I went to see Holly at Andersons in La Grange, then Thursday I was off because I knew I'd need sleep after getting home around midnight (side note, I start work at 6 and it takes 30 minutes to get there) and then at that point, it's like might as well take Friday off too! Lol. Sadly no positive news on the job front. I was turned down for one and nothing new came my way either. It was kind of a bummer, I had hoped something good would come from this week as I'm not looking forward to next week's holiday as the first time in FOREVER I am being forced to come into work on Black Friday and I am not happy about that at all. I just know that my family will likely want to see Frozen that day too if not Thursday as my poor niece was sick this weekend and just as she got better, my sister and her mother-in-law caught her bug. So I'm sure they'll be itching to see it and I'll be stuck in what I call the fiery underworld. Seriously, I've done the research, my workplace is HELL!!

Now all that that rambling is done...onto my actual haul and what brought me great happiness this week!

I bought:

Don't Breathe a Word by Christie Craig--finally bought this one once I received my mailer with coupon this week!
Cold Falling White by G.S. Prendergast--ordered this one just in the nick of time for the preorder offer! Can't believe I almost slipped up there!
Wolf's Bane by Kelley Armstrong--been meaning to buy this one for a month now!
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black--B&N edition, already read, reviewed, loved and SIGNED!
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black--standard and equally gorgeous edition, also SIGNED!
Wolf Born by Alyssa Rose Ivey & Jennifer Synder--a freebie read! I love Alyssa's books so I had to get on this series, I've fallen behind with a few of hers!
Wolf Blood by Alyssa Rose Ivy & Jennifer Snyder--another freebie read! Can't so no to FREE!
Wolf Bound by Alyssa Rose Ivy and Jennifer Snyder--a .99 sale! Since the first two were free I figured might as well buy the third one since it was on sale for a limited time. I told myself I could buy book 4 after I read these! Lol.

I won this one from Ann Aguirre's newsletter contest:

Heartwood Box by Ann Aguirre

THANK YOU Ann!

For review I received:

Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo, Louise Simonson, & Kit Seaton (ARC)

THANK YOU DC Ink!

Then I got Owl Crate boxes this week! And I wasn't spoiled for any of them this time! It's a miracle!! And of course my Holly Black book in this one arrived the day AFTER I met her! Typical luck! Lol.

November Owl Crate! I was super happy with this one's book! It was a gorgeous new cover! I can't wait to read it either!

I was blown away with this one too! I wasn't sure what to expect from this one's cover but Owl Crate exceeded my expectations!

My preorder swag that came in this week:

I got my The Queen of Nothing pin for preordering for the signing. I had also preordered one from my own indie bookstore before I bought my signing ticket AND I got one in my Owl Crate box. I'm still waiting for my bookstore to call me as the publisher didn't send the pins with the books, so eventually, I might have two extra pins to trade on the hashtag.

Then I also got my Supernova preorder pins! I truly adored these as there's a pin to represent all of Marissa's current worlds! Now I just need time to read her Renegades trilogy!

And then of course there was a cute little sticker at Holly's signing! Yes, it's of a creepy snake but I'll find a place for it eventually! My binder with paper swag in it is filled...so I'm gonna need another avenue of showing off swag stickers!

Then I also acquired a few other adorable goodies that I wanted to share here, check them out:

I saw another bookstagrammer with this magnet and learned it came from Five Below, it took me two stores to find but find it I did! It's perfect for the avid reader, because we truly are the only ones who get it! I showed it to my mom and she was kind of staring at it, and I think she even said, "I don't get it."

Sadly, I also bought a pair of absolutely perfect for me Christmas socks but it was right after I clipped the tag off and was arranging them for a picture that I saw they had a HOLE in it already and it wasn't from the tag's placement either. I know they're a $1 and won't last but a few wears, but I'd like to start that time WITHOUT holes. So I plan to go out today to another location and exchange them! I'll share those with you next week!

And my final set of items was bought at just the right time since Disney had another free ship day!

I saw this cute little milk and cookie glass/plate set! It's Mickey in his Gingerbread form! I told you all I have a weird Gingerbread obsession around Christmastime! Lol. The glass says: The Yummiest Time of Year! Which is SO true! Lol. And as you can see there's a Gingerbread Mickey on the glass and the plate is his head! I was thrilled when this one arrived unbroken because you know, it's glass and a ceramic plate and the pictures I saw on eBay show the box with an open face! It arrived in tack and perfect! Now I just got to wait for us to make Christmas cookies to put it to use!

And that was my haul for this week! As I said, it was a pretty happy week if you ignore the lack of positive job prospects. Hoping things take a better turn soon! Good vibes are welcomed! ;)

How was your all's week?

  5. I am glad you were able to do some fun things this past week. Sorry that you have to work on Black Friday though. I get that day off but have to work Christmas eve every year which just sucks. I ordered a boxed set with the B&N editions of Holly Black's books but the USPS is sending it all over the place so it isn't here yet. Bummer! I hope you have a great week!

  6. I'm sorry you have to work on Friday, that totally sucks. I don't think anyone should have to. Hope you get to see Frozen with your family if they decide to go.

Love the look of Cold Falling White!

  9. Hurray for time off work! I hope Black Friday isn't too awful. :/ Amazing haul this week! I also got the BN and Owlcrate versions of Queen of Nothing. I enjoyed it, but I wasn't as wowed by it as the first two. I need to go read your review!
