This week's question is: How
do you strike a balance between providing enough information to pique
readers' interest without giving away too many spoilers in your
reviews? (submitted by Page @ Pages of Perfiction)
MY ANSWER: For the most part, I try to stick to what's given in the blurb. I might embellish a bit more, but I basically try not to get too deep into the story, but still give a little more umph then what you'd read from the blurb. It's an awkward balance of sorts, but I try to basically get into elements I would want to know more about after reading said blurb. But I always, always refrain from divulging into spoilers. I might even type out weird expressions or phrases as I would likely express these if we were talking in person, because as previously mentioned...at some point at least, lol, I usually treat my reviews like it's me talking and telling you about this book I just read...and maybe getting a little more written review worthy as I wrap-up, but otherwise, for the most part, I treat it like a conversation! And try to keep my mouth shut when I get closer to spoiler territory. There have been many times I went back and deleted something I just typed too! Lol.
