Telling Flotsam and Jetsam apart is apparently pretty tough since they're always moving about and you can't always catch who's who. But it's said that Flotsam has the glowing (yellow) left eye and Jetsam has the glowing right eye! SO going to remember this now! :D

While The Little Mermaid was released in 1989 (Nov 17--my sister's birthday!) it the Disney animators started working on it in the 1930s. Kay Nielsen , a famed book illustrator did some of the preliminary sketches!

Like many a parent, Bambi's mother didn't have a name. Oddly enough, Faline's--Bambi's girlfriend--mom was named Aunt Ena.

Eyvind Earle was the mastermind who did all the background art in movies like Sleeping Beauty! Truly remarkable work! Earle had been working as an artist in 1916 and went back to school to take more classes in 1950. He applied for a job at Disney in the same year and was hired as a background artist. He stayed there until 1958.
