Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

This week's topic is: Top Ten Best Books Of 2016

*in no particular order

10. UNHOOKED by Lisa Maxwell--I looove a good fairy tale retelling and having one where the traditional villain is actually the hero is one that always intrigues me! And this one was superb!
9. ASSASSIN'S HEART by Sarah Ahiers--this was a debut that took me by surprise with how much I enjoyed it!
8. GEMINA by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff--a terrific sequel to a stunning premiere! I cannot wait for the next book!!

7. ARCANA RISING by Kresley Cole--the 4th book in one of my most favorite series! I looove the Arcana Chronicles and I was thrilled to see Kresley was still writing this series! I ADORE it! And that ending!! Thank goodness there's more to come!
6. STALKING JACK THE RIPPER by Kerri Maniscalco--a wonderful debut! I always find Jack the Ripper stories intriguing! And this one was super awesome!!
5. HEARTLESS by Marissa Meyer--again with my love for origin stories that give you a different idea for the fairy tales we all know and love!

4. RECKONING by Veronica Wolff--a series I long believed canceled was revived with a finale!! And it was awesome!!!
3. THE WINNER'S KISS by Marie Rutkoski--I binged this series this year and I thought this ending was just perfect!!
2. THE IMMORTAL THRONE by Bree Despain--another series I feared would leave me dying with anticipation with the publisher closed house! Thankfully Bree found a new pub home and it was born!!!

1. REMEMBRANCE by Meg Cabot--technically one I read in 2015 but it was published this year! I LOVED IT!! I ADORED the Mediator series and was ecstatic when Meg said she would be writing an adult addition to the series!! And omg!! It was everything I could've ever hoped for and more! Hence the reason why this book I read in 2015 yet was published in 2016 had to make this list!

  1. Amazing list of favourite books! I am DYING to read Unhooked and Heartless and Stalking Jack the Ripper :) Glad you enjoyed them!
    Here's my TTT

  2. Interesting TT and I love your best top 10 books... I'm delighted to say I've got Heartless on my TBR and now I've been given some book tokens, I'm aiming to acquire Illuminae:). Thank you for sharing your favourite reads. This is my TT -

  3. Great list, Jessica! I'm hoping to read Heartless really soon and I would love to start Illuminae soon too. They sound spectacular!

  4. Love the teaser- I need to read Blue Bloods as soon as humanly possible. Love that series. Great list of your favorite reads.

    My TT

  5. I have Remembrance on my shelf! I still need to read it though. Great list this year!

  6. Your teaser certainly raises a lot of questions in my mind. I have two this week - Midnight Obsession by Melinda Leigh and Rose and Thorn by Sarah Prineas. Happy reading!

  7. I really need to get to Heartless, and I need to own Stalking Jack the Ripper! Hope 2017 is full of awesome books!

    My Top Ten Tuesday

  8. Curious about the book after that teaser. And an excellent showcase. I loved Gemina!

My TT from The Kill Switch

  9. It looks like you've been immersed in good books this year. That's a plus. Here's Mine

  10. I can't parse the teaser. "...dead guys has actually been..." Is it "dead guy had actually been"? Not sure I would pick this one up.

Mine this week is from a female PI series:

  11. Unhooked intrigues me and I love the cover on Heartless. I'm with PDW on the teaser — wondering if the main character is uneducated and speaks with poor grammar all the way through the book. Not sure it's for me. Here's my link:

  12. Intriguing tease. I haven't read any of your top 10 yet.

  13. Your Teaser definitely made me curious. Great cover.
My Tuesday post features Isabel Allende’s The Japanese Lover.

  14. I might read the Meg Cabot but everything else looks very, very scary!

  15. I got Stalking Jack the Ripper for Christmas! I'm even more excited to start now that I see it's on your list :D I see so many books in your post that I really want to read!

    Emily @ Reader Rising

  16. Wow, many of the books you've listed sound really good. Happy reading to you in 2017!!

  17. Heartless was on my list this week too!
    My TTT:

  18. I haven't read any of these books yet! I really hope to get to Gemina and The Winner's Kiss soon!

  19. I have only read a few of these, but I was happy I got to check out Gemina because I loved it! Great list!

  20. I used to enjoy Meg Cabot's books. I'd like to read something else by her soon.

  21. Wow! The Blue Blooded sounds interesting! I'll have to check it out!

    Here’s my Teaser Tuesday!

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog

  22. Amazing list!! I still really need to read the rest of Unhooked! I think reading it right after Never Never was a mistake. I'll probably enjoy it much more now. Great list :D

    Here are my Top Ten!

  23. I loved Stalking Jack the Ripper too. My fan girl self just squels internally when I see it on people's lists. Thanks for making my day a bit brighter :D
