The Book Blogger Test

Saw this Book Blogger Test on another blog and thought, why not?! Going to do the BIG End of the Year Survey soon too. Possibly this weekend...I'm not sure when really, but I am planning to do it soon!

I am not sure who originated this test, the blog I saw it on didn't credit anyone, so I am just going off of what she said/did question wise! The blogger I discovered it from was Amber at Paradise of Pages!

1. What are your top 3 Book pet peeves?

a. Covers/sizes and all whatnot not matching. Yeah, it doesn't happen often but when it does!! Errgh! Drives me bonkers! Especially when it happens on the LAST book!! So many times this has happened and it drives me crazy each and every time!

b. Not using a bookmark! So basically folding page corners or some other horrid thing that scars/mars the pages!!

c. Cliffhangers. Mostly because of the year long wait until the next book. Unless I practiced some serious restraint and didn't read the series until it was complete. I will admit this is sometimes rare. Like 50/50.

2. Describe your perfect reading spot?

a. Basically just a nice comfy bed/couch/chair. I'm not picky. I prefer to lounge when I read so comfy cushions, blankets, pillows, are a must!

3. Three book confessions:

a. The only classics I've read were ones that I was forced to read in school, and I pretty much disliked every one of them. Except for The Count of Monte Cristo, which still baffles me! LOL!

b. There's a widely popular debut book coming out early next year--like February--that I got to read early and despite all its love and early craze...I really didn't like it at all. :( (Yeah, can't bring myself to admit it yet, but trying to give you all sorts of clues as to what it is without saying it.)

c. Still have never read The Hunger Games and really have no desire to do so either.

4. When was the last time you cried while reading a book?

a. Back in September when I read Leigh Bardugo's Crooked Kingdom

5. How many books are on your bedside table?

a. Uh...that's not where my books go. I'm kind of OCD with my books and basically read books go on shelves, TBR books are piled somewhere else, and current read is usually in my work bag. But technically my bedside table/nightstand does have two shelves below it and those hold all my Jennifer L. Armentrout books. So it has pretty many!

6. What is your favorite snack to eat while reading?

a. I generally don't eat and read. Unless I read during lunch time, then it's whatever I packed for lunch while I read one handed until I wash my hands. Can't have my books getting dirty!

7. Name three books you would recommend for others to read.

a. Well, because it has to be said, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, and yes, the entire series!

b. The Mediator Series by Jenny Carroll/Meg Cabot, because my friends this is what early Paranormal YA was and it was AWESOME!!

c. The Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes because this series will totally suck you in and not let go of your heart until its very end...and word of warning right now, there's a huge cliffhanger at the end of book 5 and it's heart crushing, save yourself the pain and WAIT to read it next year!

8. Show us a picture of your favorite bookshelf on your bookcase.

a. Uh...well, my books are shelved in alphabetical order based on author's last name. So it's really hard to pick a favorite one. And as of now, the majority of my shelves are still decorated for Christmas so all my usual decor items are not there.

But here is one from my "other" room! I couldn't decide which one was better since technically one is the top of the bookcase! I have my eye on a Harry Potter Funko from Hot Topic that I plan to buy soonish, so eventually that one will take Cookie Monster's place!

Then the "top shelf" is a favorite because of my Beauty and the Beast Funkos, plus the incredible sign that speaks the truth of "my happy place"!

9. Write how much books mean to you in three words.

a. Well, I'd say Books are: My Happy Place. Because really growing up I didn't have many friends. And really, I still don't have any real life friends, as all my friends are my blogger pals who live all over the place. So really, when I read books, I find myself happy because I forget about life and responsibilities, and yeah, the loneliness too.

10. What is your biggest reading secret?

a. I have a serious book buying problem! I can't seem to tell myself no when it comes to books. That I need to read the ones I have and then I can add more. But nope. I just keep buying them as they come out. Mostly because I like to help my authors with their sales numbers and keep the series alive even if I am not able to read it right away!

If you feel like "taking the test", considered yourself tagged! ;)

  2. I love this tag. I also have more blogger friends than real life friends. It does get lonely sometimes. I can totally relate to the book-buying problem, too. I always have way more books than I can read.

Aj @ Read All The Things!
