The Apollo 11 astronauts left a lot of stuff behind on the moon...over one hundred items in fact. Items include: two pairs of space boots, tools, cameras, pieces of the Lunar Module spacecraft, airsickness bags, and containers used to collect astronaut's "business."
And of course my mind is wondering if those bags and containers were full or empty...the answer will decide if these astronauts were litterbugs or dirty disgusting litterbugs! Lol.

In the Pacific Ocean between California and Hawaii there's a floating garbage patch. It's known as the Eastern Pacific Garbage Patch and is about twice the size of Texas. The trash consists of soda bottles and other plastic, some of this trash has even made its way to China.
Fun Fact: Some estimate that the entire Great Pacific Garbage Patch stretches from California to Japan.
That's just gross and terribly, terribly sad.

In 2010 it was learned that a similar garbage patch was making its home in the Atlantic Ocean. It supposedly spans the distance between Virginia and Cuba.
The dolphins are crying right now. Hell, I'm crying!

A study at Brigham Young University found that people who live and work in a clean-smelling environment are better workers than those who work in an "unscented" environment. Those who work in a clean-smelling office were most trustworthy and were more eager to volunteer for things than those working in the unscented room.
I find this oddly fascinating! I mean, seriously?! That's just wicked weird!

A person's scent is as unique as their fingerprint and no two scents are alike. A bloodhound can scent out a person when they leave their "odor prints" at a scene. This becomes a great help to investigators when surveying a crime scene.
And of course I had to go with bloodhound PUPPIES!!
The garbage islands are so horrible!! It makes me sad every time I think about them. And the fact about the scents is so incredibly weird!

i've seen the garbage pile before and it's amazing to me that no one has done anything about it. we humans are super litterbugs and i am not surprised that we even trashed the moon. :-(
