This week's question is: What was the last book that made you cry?

MY ANSWER: Oh uh...well I'm afraid to say it, because I know not everyone's read it yet. And those that have read it were pretty angry about the whole thing. But since it has been a few months, I'll stop hedging and say it.

The last book, that I can recall at this moment, that made me cry was Allegiant by Veronica Roth.

It was definitely a book that just totally shocked my world and before I knew it, tears were springing to my eyes! Of course when I say that, I just mean my eyes got watery. I rarely break down and cry like a blubbery mess with books or movies. But I do get watery-eyed and a tear or two may stray down. But that is crying in a sense.

  1. I love Allegiant, but true, the ending, so heart breaking, the epilogue is bittersweet, but like the realistic feel

  2. Ugh!! I must somehow get my hands on the second book and this one so I can see what happens. I'm afraid to know what happens in this one though, so many people seem to be so mad or sad about it. What happens!!?!? No! Don't tell me... you must tell me. But don't. I must suffer, lol.

Anyways, I'm not a big crier when it comes to books, or anything really. But the last one that made my crusty black old heart strings tug and water my eyes was "First Love" by James Patterson. Especially since it's based around his own first love. So sad and romantic and sad.

  3. I haven't read anything from Veronica Roth. I hear pretty good and pretty bad stuff about this series. Oh, I don't know...I may give it a try!

  13. I have all three sitting on my shelf since Christmas. I should start the series and get it over with. Good pick though. It made me curious why it would make you cry.

    Happy Friday!

  14. I'm still yet to finish Allegiant. I managed to read 150 pages in and then for some reason I just stopped reading it! I've seen so many spoilers that I'm not sure if I want to carry on.

  19. Yeah, Allegiant made me cry too, but I seem to have a knack for picking up sad books lately, so it wasn't my pick.

Have a wonderful weekend, Jessica :)

  21. I had my eyes water alot towards the end of this book, but not to spoil anything, I will just say that the zipline part is what ended it. Tears came streaming down and didn't stop for hours. I like books that can bring up such strong emotions though, even if they destroy you!

  24. I haven't read this series yet. I know, that's terrible! Especially since the movie is coming out, and I always like to read the book before seeing the movie. I've heard so many mixed feelings about the ending! Thanks for visiting my FF!
