This week's question is: If you could read a book for the “first time” again, which book would it be? Why?
MY ANSWER: OOoh that's a toughie! I think I need to stretch back to my YA days, when I was actually a teenager! Firstly I would say Old Magic by Marianne Curley! Not only was it a magical, slightly paranormal like read with witches and time travel during a time of very little paranormal YA, but it also had an incredible heroine!
True, nowadays seeing the sort of shy, gawky teenage girl is getting old. But to me, back then it wasn't old at all! Most of the heroines main female characters weren't the gawky type, they were kind of annoyingly popular or something. Plus, I just fell sooooo in love with the story! It was positively magical and it made me smile at the end! I even re-read this one back in the day. Before I knew what a TBR pile was!
Then I think I'd also like to re-experience the Harry Potter series! Have all the books lined out, have no one speak of spoilers--for at the time of book 7 I did overhear someone say to another who died and I wanted to burst in tears then! Stupid need to have to work!
This was a truly magical series that was positively wonderful! Re-reading them back to back for the first time would truly be a treat!
I could go on and on about this question, so I'd better stop here!
Awesome book, Old magic is amazing (no many people know the book) and yes Kate is a cool heroine. We need more storys like that
ReplyDeleteAnd Harry, same here, I can remember the first time I read the book, 13. years ago
I really like your choices, I chose Harry Potter too such a great read. Old Magic sounds really great though - witches and time travel? Yes please! Thanks for sharing. Happy Friday!

That's exactly how I was for book 7 of Harry Potter. I took the day off work so I could lock myself in myself in my room and read. I refused to talk to anyone until I finished!

Yes, yes, yes! To all the people who said this, you're right! It really says something that all of these blogs I visit for FF usually read and squeal over these romance-heavy teen paranormals (myself included--no judgment), but when it comes right down to it, seven books about friendship, adventure, and integrity were where it's at for us. Way to go, J.K. Rowling. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Jessica! Have a nice weekend!
