Top 5 Sundays

Top 5 Sundays is a weekly blog meme created by Larissa at Larissa's Bookish Life.

Every Sunday I will post a TOP 5 list on the blog. It can be about anything and every week I'll have a new theme {You can vote on next week’s theme on my left sidebar!} and I will ad the Mr.Linky bellow the post so you can do a list with the theme and add you link to it.

1 - Write a post listing your TOP 5 choices within the theme I chose (or was chosen on a poll) for the week.
2 - Mention this Blog on the post and link back to it.
3 - Fell free to use the Feature's image (there is a smaller size version of it bellow)
4 - After you've finished your post, add you link (of the post, not your blog's main page) to the Mr.Linky at the end of that week's post.
5 – If you don’t have a blog to post, just leave your list in the comments =)

This week's topic is: BEST BOOKS AND AUTHORS OF 2011

*in no particular order

Kelly wrote this amazing young adult series this year, debuting with Darkness Becomes Her! It was one of the first books I read that wove Greek mythology into the story and I just LOVED it! So freaking excited for the next one! Hoping Netgalley gets it again!

I LOVE Maria's books! Whatever she writes I totally get captivated by it! Her YA series is futuristic, her adult ones tend to have a past like feeling. Touch of Power was awesome! New characters to love, new story to fall in love with, and a new type of magic!

Richelle is definitely a busy beaver this year! What with ending her two adult series, starting her new YA spinoff, working on the graphic novel and comic books! She does so much in one year and now she's a new mommy! She's like the definition of SUPER AUTHOR this year. I am now dubbing her SUPER AUTHOR of 2011!

I'll admit that I only read Gena's YA series, but OMG did she about kill me this year with Twisted! I was so looking forward to it, and then it went and blew me away! Had an agonizing cliffhanger and then the next book doesn't come out til 2013! You've got to have incredible talent to do that to a reader, and Gena definitely has. I would likely go critically insane, but since I still have so much else to read I think I might be okay. I'll get back to you on that!

December updates
Jeaniene is another fave of mine! She got 2 amazing books done in her Night Huntress series and is at hard work finishing the Vlad book! Soooooooooo cannot wait to read that one!!

Gena Showalter

True I did just say it about killed me at the end, but it was still freaking fantastic! I LOOOOOVE this series, it's one of the best YA series I've read! I get sooooo invested with the characters, it's crazy!

Chloe Neill

After the ending we got in Hard Bitten I was so glad that the next one came out in the same calendar year! This was a total thrill ride that didn't seem to stop!

Shannon Delany

So am I surprising anyone with this pick? You'll never guess my next one! Yes I am a tad obsessed with this series! It's just so freaking awesome! There are always so many new surprises that just blow me away!

Shannon Delany

I soooo love it when series you totally love get 2 releases in a year! Was psyched that that happened with this series! Totally LOVED it!

Kim Harrison

Probably my fave of the series so far. Yeah, I might be playing favoritism a little since St. Louis starred in it! Our Arch will never be the same! But oh it was so fun! I mean come on, who doesn't love a road trip with a pixie, a vampire, an elf, and a witch?!

Other BEST BOOKS EVER of 2011! Nominees

  1. Oh, I LOVE Richelle Mead and Gena Showlater! You've picked some good authors there :)

  2. awesome list! the only author Im unfamiliar with is Shannon Delany, but I do wanna read her series!

Comments are an award all on their own! So my blog is an award free one! Thanks for any consideration though!
