"'The vampire burned up?' Dylan asked, his eyes lit with humor. 'You mean, he doesn't sparkle in the sunlight?'
I shook my head and rolled my eyes with affection. I had no idea why he was under the impression that the UnDead glittered in the sunlight, but he was always making jests like that." Kindle loc. 98%*

This week's topic is: Top Ten Blogging Confessions
*in no particular order
1. If at all possible, I coordinate my bookmarks to match my books! Sometimes colorwise and then there's just the randomness...like I used my Maleficent Pop bookmark when I read the movie adaptation of Maleficent!
2. I haven't been to the library and actually used their services for reading pleasure in forever!
3. When I go to the bookstore and am about to buy a book, I examine the book from cover to cover, spine all around...the whole nine yards to make sure it's perfect!
4. I have actually returned a book once because I was so displeased with it. Only the once though, now I just give them away!
5. I sometimes--only sometimes--will buy double copies of a book. Especially if it had a cover change and I want my books to match (if I'm feeling CDO enough!)
6. I am very particular as to how I organize my books; alphabetical by last name and then when there's multiple series, it goes in order of which series came first.
7. I will always read the book before I see the movie! Even if it ends up being a a book I never heard of but want to see the movie. Kind of turned out that way with Warm Bodies, come to think of it!
8. I go absolutely crazy over bookish jewelry! Especially if it ends up being a piece that was IN the book! Hebel Design is one of my fave shops! I tend to buy a lot of jewelry and wear it when I meet the author!
9. I cry a bit every time I see an author not come to my city. Or even not close enough for a roadtrip!
10. If I start getting books signed in a particular series, my CDO side demands that I get the series signed completely at the soonest opportunity!
Thanks for all those teasers. Ethan sounds a little like the possesive type.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I like Ethan, but I laughed at the second teaser.
ReplyDeleteLove your list :)
ReplyDeleteI have a soft spot for bookish jewellery and accessories.
Cora @ Tea Party Princess
I've returned a book once too because it made me so mad! I felt soooo guilty though, so I only ever did it once. Funnily enough, I bought the same book a second time and ended up being able to get through it and then moved on in the series, too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Chicagoland teaser, Jessica. I haven't continued this series for a while... I got so upset with the back and forth in every way for Ethan...
ReplyDeleteLOL at your second teaser, that one's a winner!
Thanks for stopping by earlier. Happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
HA! Loved the second teaser. Gotta love those Twilight references even in the world of other fictional characters and even when they are being made in jest.
ReplyDeleteHolly @ Words Fueled by Love
Ugh Blood Games sounds amazing! All the snark... it's all I want from life! I'll have to check it out! And I'm also a massive book jewelry fan but am always low on funds to actually buy the ones I want! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteMy Tuesday Intro
Juli @ Universe in Words
I am liking the dialogue here, very inviting. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSparrow's Teaser | Wonder
Great teasers and I love your confessions. I didn't go to the library for a long time. As soon as my daughter starting reading even faster than I do, it's become a must. I cannot afford her addiction. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting The Book Connection.
I enjoyed both your Teasers. Ethan sounds like a man who knows what he wants, and Dylan has quite an imagination.
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser is from RYELEE’S COWBOY.
They both look awesome!
ReplyDeleteDon’t forget to get a copy of my debut novel, THE ROSE MASTER, today!

I loved both the teasers, Jessica. Chloe Neill is on my tbr but I'm going to have to add The Spiritglass Charade. :) And about your confessions...I, too, thoroughly examine a book before I buy it to make sure there aren't bends, scratches/scuffs, etc. :) And I also MUST read a book before seeing the movie.
ReplyDelete+JMJ+
ReplyDeleteI use old receipts as bookmarks, but I love coordinating my outfits and my current reads! I long for the day when an artistic, discerning eye takes notice without my having to point it out . . . LOL!
Sorry, I think I'm still swooning from that teaser with Ethan and Merit... *sigh*. God I love those characters!!!!!! Is August here yet?? Great teasers!
ReplyDeleteI had the car keys, LOL -- good one! As for your top ten... I also have not used the library in forever, though I do frequent their monthly used book sale (it's in a more accessible location than the actual library). I'm also particular about a book's condition. If it's used, I would prefer it be in good condition, no mold, and not covered in food or beverage stains. It also ticks me off the way some store employees manhandle books and produce. Some items should NOT be tossed down the conveyor belt, TYVM. I would prefer the cover be intact (and produce unbruised) when I leave the store. My teaser: Daring to Dream
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I'm not the only one who never goes to the library anymore! As someone who wants to be a librarian, I feel kind of guilty about it... I'm the same way about book-to-film titles IF I want to read the book. If it's a book I don't think I'm interested in but I still want to see the movie, I won't read first. However, I never go back - if I see the movie I will NOT go back and read the book. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier!
ReplyDeleteTracy @ Cornerfolds
I haven't been into my local library in years and I think I'd be lost in there if I went now as it's been so long! I use to virtually live in that library but as soon as I started buying second hand books that I could keep I didn't need to borrow my books anymore. I often think I should go in and have a snoop around and see how it's changed since I was last in there......
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my TT and leaving a comment, I completely agree with what you said, I love that I am able to read advance copies and don't usually complain, this was just a one off mini rant about something that bugged me and that I think I needed to vent it out, luckily I haven't had another copy like that since, phew!
Thea @ Gizzimomo's Book Shelf
Authors almost NEVER come to CT, so I feel your pain on that one. I also like my series to match, so sometimes I end up buying more than one version of a book... though I usually only keep the one that matches the others, and I give the other away. Great confessions, Jessica! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of anyone coordinating their bookmarks with the books they're reading. How fun! I bet you've got a cool bookmark collection.
ReplyDeleteSpiritglass Charade sounds good! Great teaser!
ReplyDeleteMissie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
Love both teasers! Haven't read either of them, but they are DEFINITELY going on my to-read list. THANKS :)
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Ramblings on Readings
I love both teasers. We share many of the same obsessions. Here is a confession of my own. I love for my books to be in hardback and hate it when the first book in a series is only offered in paperback and the other books are both. IThanks for sharing Here's my Teaser
ReplyDeleteLove your confessions! And I love bookish jewelry too! I have so much of it now because I can never say no!
ReplyDeleteTeresa @ Readers Live A Thousand Lives
These are all great teasers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Vonnie's Reading Corner :)
Hahaha, sounds like a funny guy!
ReplyDeletehttp://cupandchaucer.wordpress.com/2014/07/08/teaser-tuesday-july-08/
Wow, getting all those books signed and shelved sounds like so much work! I'm far too lazy to deal with that but your bookshelf must look amazing :)
ReplyDelete- Kritika @ Snowflakes & Spider Silk
Love your list this week! I tend to examine my picks carefully before I purchase them too! And then I get really bummed when I find that I missed one squished corner or something. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my post earlier :)
Obsessive Compulsive Reader
Now, you got me wanting to drop everything to read Blood Games. Too bad I am only on book three of that series.
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser
I can't wait to read Blood Games!! Been hanging for it for sooooo long! Great teasers girl!
ReplyDeleteThanx for visiting my TT
