"Or maybe I should let her cut out Belem's heart with her little dagger, he thought. Rafi grinned at the thought of her knife against the man's double chin. I wonder where she keeps it in that dress. No sleeves, no pockets. It'd be difficult to fit in a bodice laced so tight--
Stop.
Rafi pushed her out of his mind, headed for his chambers, and nearly broke his neck when he stumbled over the body at the bottom of the stairs." p. 160

This week's topic is: Top Futuristic Books You Love
*in no particular order
1. RED QUEEN by Victoria Aveyard--I LOVED that this was combo futuristic and fantasy read! Those are the most surprising and enjoyable reads!
2. CRESS by Marissa Meyer--probably one of my favorites from the Lunar Chronicles! Cress was a such a fun heroine! And the futuristic societies on the moon and earth were definitely enough to give it that futuristic vibe!
3. DIVERGENT TRILOGY by Veronica Roth--I'm in the minority for loving this trilogy as a whole! The ending was definitely unexpected, but I enjoyed it all the same! The society that was built was pretty scary when you think of what might happen far into the future!
4. SHATTER ME TRILOGY by Tahereh Mafi--another futuristic read with terrifying societies and government. But still makes for enjoyable reading! Because Warner!
5. UNDER THE NEVER SKY TRILOGY by Veronica Rossi--another futuristic setting that is mostly terrifying! But I loved Ari's journey!
6. BLOOD OF EDEN TRILOGY by Julie Kagawa--another amazing read by Julie Kagawa! This one has another scary future outlook for us filled with "bad"vampires and not so bad vampires like the one and only Jackal! Don't let his first appearance fool you! ;)
7. LEGEND TRILOGY by Marie Lu--more governments going crazy on society! It's not that I like these things in particular, I just happened to like futuristic reads with corrupt or shady governments! LOL.
8. THE DEMON TRAPPER'S DAUGHTER SERIES by Jana Oliver--here's a twist! A future with demons running amok and the Church is running things! Riley is your teenage demon trapper and she's good at what she does! Love this series!
9. BLACK CITY TRILOGY by Elizabeth Richards--another future with shady government, except this time it's with VAMPIRES!!
10. THE BLACKCOAT REBELLION TRILOGY by Aimee Carter--another trilogy of corrupt governments and rebels trying to fight back and make society a better place for all! So many twists and turns in this series but I loved it!
A body at the stairs? Yikes! Divergent, Shatter Me and Under the Sky are great picks- the others I haven't read.
