This week's question is:  In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran’s Day tell us about your favorite soldier and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.

MY ANSWER: Oh man, that's tough. I don't know any real life soldiers. I don't think I know any fictional ones either. None of the books I've read had characters be soldiers that I can think of. I'm not sure if we can count Ash from The Iron Fey series or not. He was sort of a soldier.

  1. That's the most original answer i've seen to the FF question.

Thanks for visiting me earlier as well.

  2. Ha! I had to think long and hard about this one, since I dont' know any real soldiers. Funny thing is, there's an entire subgenre of military-related books, both thrillers and romances, but I haven't read any of them either!

  10. I haven't read any of the Iron Fey series yet so I can't say whether or not he's a soldier, but I had trouble coming up with an answer today too!

  12. Some people have friends and/or family who served or who is serving in the military. Other people aren’t really keen on the long-standing war and really have no answer at all.

As for me? I don’t know anyone who is serving or who has served so I decided to go with what I want and chose a fictional soldier as an answer. The thing is, I had four prime candidates! I did eventually end up with one with a lengthy explanation. Care to know who it is? Follow me back to http://www.howardsherman.net and find out!

In celebration of today’s cool date of 11/11/11 I’m offering a special $11 discount off all my interactive fiction books! Sure I’m a book blogger but I’m also an author. All the details of the $11 off on 11/11/11 is at the bottom of my Follow Friday blog post.

Since I’m posting this kind of late just add 'FF’ to the coupon code and it’ll be valid all weekend long!

    Thank God it’s Follow Friday!

I would have had a hard time with this one too if I hadn't had a real life choice. But I really like your answer :)

  15. Ha! Second one that gives that answer to the soldier question. AND I still haven't gotten to reading that series (I suck, I know).

But, totally unrelated, because trivia is sexy when commenting, lol, why don't you have a blog button that I can grab and show off on my Blog-o-Sphere? I want a blog button from you, lol. I can make you one if you'd like? Just give me the word and I'll whip it up for you, I've got my Photoshop running right now xD
