Random Thursday

New Year's Eve. Normally people have parties or do some other get together gathering. And yet, I feel like a failure to my generation. People my age, 24, are normally going to parties or something right? Me, no. I'm not much of a partyer. I have a hard time being social as it is. I do try, but it's hard for me for reasons.

So my New Year's Eve will likely be spent at home and that doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that I am usually so lame that I end up falling asleep around 10 or so. I don't really stay up late anymore either. I used to as a kid, but not anymore.

So really my plans are not having plans. It may seem a little depressing--and I think this too--yet it doesn't bother me that much. I like quiet nights at home just watching TV or movies, maybe playing a game or two--of course you usually need more people for that. But I don't know yet, maybe my cousins might come over or something.

But I figure even with my lameness and going to bed at 10, it's gotta be New Years somewhere, right? Maybe...I don't know, can't recall all the time differences. Know it's 11 in NYC at that time. Oh well!

  1. I hope it's a good New Years for you!

I just read on a parenting blog that you can celebrate NYE with your children earlier by watching the ball drop on CNN in LONDON! It happens at 7 Eastern time instead of midnight! :) Sounds like something you may want to consider!

We'll be taking our children with us to a family friendly party. Boardgames, movies and a few drinks here and there.

    Happy Happy!

  2. I never make plans for New Year any more! I have real trouble staying up until midnight as it is - having kids who wake up at 4am doesn't help with that ;)

I hope you enjoy New Year's Eve whatever you do :)

  3. I'm the same I am 26 and don't go out but it is harder for me as it would be my Nanna's birthday on New Years Eve but she dies nearly two years ago and we also lost our grandad in Jan this year so the whole family is quite we used to have a party at our house with the family but that doesn't happen any more plus I don't have a job so no money to go out.

  4. I am totally right there with you. I'm 26 and I plan on staying home and just relaxing. Most likely read a book and mess with my blog. I feel old but I really don't mind too much. At least I'm not getting drunk, partying, and puking on people.
