Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

This week's topic is: Thanksgiving Themed Freebie: Ten Books/Series I am Thankful For

*in no particular order

1. DEMON IN MY VIEW by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes--the book that started my vampire/paranormal obsession! Without this one...I would be lost! ;)
2. OLD MAGIC by Marianne Curley--my first magic and time traveling book! Well...magic in a sense! This was the first bit of active magic I had in a book...other than Harry Potter of course, but more to come!
3. VAMPIRE ACADEMY by Richelle Mead--the book that brought me back to YA! And essentially the one that let me know Paranormal YA was back and running strong!!

4. THE MEDIATOR: SHADOWLAND by Jenny Carroll/Meg Cabot--one of my first Paranormal YA finds after Demon in my View! I adored this series! I loved every moment of it! And discovering that were two more books after this quartet was finished made me incredibly happy! I'm likely to burst next year when book 7, the first adult installment comes out!
5. POISON STUDY by Maria V. Snyder--essentially my first adult Fantasy read, though it does get classified as YA at times too! But for me it was in the adult section at my dearly, departed Borders. I fell in love with this world so fast and I am grateful for it because it basically opened the door to amazing fantasies for me! Ones that weren't overly complex either!
6. HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE by Jeaniene Frost--for what would the world be like without Bones...or Ian for that matter! And soon...Ian will have his book! I look forward to that day just as much as loving this series/world in the beginning!

(ironically, not planned red covers[ish])
7. BITTEN by Kelley Armstrong--this book was amazing and it launched an incredible series that surrounded so many awesome characters! It kind of gave me that safe feeling that a series doesn't always have to revolve around one character or set of characters. It can be massive! And still be incredible and understandable!
8. STRAY by Rachel Vincent--probably one of the first books I bought in the "romance" section and learned that not all those books are romance centered. I had some bad experiences with a few of those! As someone who only likes a little bit of romance, this was huge for me! Plus this series became a fast favorite! Loved every (well...nearly every) moment of it!
9. A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas--an amazing and beautifully retold tale of my favorite fairy tale ever! Which is Beauty and the Beast, naturally! This read was beyond amazing! It's also a very, very mature YA. I liked that Sarah wasn't afraid to make it overly "safe" either!

10. HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE by J.K. Rowling--because what's a list of books you're thankful for without Harry Potter?! This was such a magical read! And to think I didn't really pick it up until there were 3 books out! Just made it nice to binge those three...even if there was an argument with my sister who got to read book 2 first. I think she won...but I still read book 3 before she finished book 2 or even started it, so naturally, I snapped it back up before she got around to it! HA! LOL!

  14. I didn't read Harry Potter until there were already three books out either. Love Vampire Academy and I really need to catch up on the Night Huntress series. I think I've missed the last two books that are out in that one. :D

I love series. I am very grateful for their existence too. I wish I'd thought to put that on my list. I like your choices. Harry Potter would have made mine. I love the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong. I haven't read them all, but I've read enough to know it's one of my favorite series.
