Let's Discuss: Why I Don't Binge Watch TV Shows

Time and time again I see people constantly talking about binge watching this and that show on Netflix and I have to say, I am the COMPLETE opposite! Lol!

Why I Don't Binge Watch TV Shows

I'm not entirely sure why I don't do this. It's not that I don't like watching TV shows, I do! I have a few favorites on Netflix, I still have like two seasons to watch but currently I'm watching Veronica Mars season 4/1 with Hulu. Really liking it when I actually sit down to watch it.

And then I realized why I am so slow to binge watch shows! Netflix shows are longer than the standard hour show turned 40 minutes without commercials. So sitting for maybe an hour or close to it can be hard for me sometimes. Not because of any attention problem, but because there's rarely time where I can sit and do nothing. I feel like I'm always trying to do something whether it's writing blog posts or organizing this and that or trying to find something online. Things that require my attention and when I care to watch a show or movie, I want to be able to give it 100% of my attention!

And I'm not much of a night owl, so I'm not up to 3 am watching shows, I can't even make it through SNL half the time! LOL!

So the short answer why I don't binge watch shows so much is really because of time! I simply can't find the time to sit still long enough to get through 8-10 one hour episodes! But in the long run, at least I'll always have something to watch when I am ready to sit and chillax! Lol.

  1. I can't binge either. I find if I watch toomany in a row of the same show I get bored of it. I have to have a variety, but always finish the seasons.

  2. I love binge watching shows but I can't binge an entire series in one sitting anymore, it usually takes me about 3 "sessions" to do a season of 10 x 1hr episodes.

  3. I not much of a TV person. Sometimes I will watch a series and stop half way through a session. Movies I can just watch in one sitting and be done with it. If I do watch a TV show it has to interest me all the way through. Not just the first two to three epodes.

  4. I watch TV while I blog sometimes, even if it means I can't focus on the show as much. That's the only way I can binge a show (though I do usually choose shows that don't need much focused attention).
