This week's question is: Do you like fantasy or realistic books? - Suggested by The Realm of Books.

MY ANSWER: I guess you could say fantasy, but I do prefer Urban Fantasy, which in a sense can be a blend of both fantasy and realistic, because it's a real life kind of setting, but intermixed with something paranormal for the most part! Vampires/werewolves/goblins/demons/etc living among us, usually a heroine who has some sort of power or something to make her different...

So short answer, fantasy, long answer both! (but I don't read contemporaries, they're just not my read)

  1. I'm not a huge fan of fantasy, because I haven't been able to find one that has grabbed my full attention in any special way. Do you have any recommendations for fantasy books? I'm definitely someone who leans more towards realistic fiction.

  3. I could've guessed your answer :). I like contemporary but more the mysteries and the thrillers sometimes horror which I guess has a bit of fantasy too.

  4. Haha, yeah I said both too, I don't read a lot of Urban Fantasy but I do love both fantastical reads and realistic reads.

  5. I agree! I've always been slightly confused about what urban fantasy actually is, but I guess that makes sense - fantasy in a real world setting. I guess that's my favorite! Haha!

  6. I feel like Urban Fantasy definitely is a great 'in-between' kind of thing while being solidly its own genre! At times I enjoy contemporaries but often I find them a bit boring, which might be more my problem than anyone else's xD Thanks for stopping by :) I hope you have a great weekend!

  7. I am more of a fantasy book reader haha, I like to escape from reality and immerse myself in new worlds. I guess that's why I loved Harry Potter so much. It's really crazy how a person can create a new world from nothing and share it with many people. Anyways hope you have a nice day!:)

  8. I LOVE Urban Fantasy! It's one of my all time favorite genres. I'll read both, but if I were made to choose between a fantasy or a contemporary, I'd almost always go for the fantasy.

  11. To be honest genres just really confuse me. I've never personally labeled anything "Urban Fantasy" but according to your definition of it, I've read plenty of them.

  13. I am a Paranormal freak but I also love some great romance anything from historical to erotic so I guess both would be my answer.
