- Originally, the song, Can You Feel The Love Tonight was supposed to be performed by Timon and Pumba.--I don't think this would've had the same impact as Elton John! LOL!
- Disney was actually sued by a hyena biologist for their portrayal of hyenas as villains.
- Pumba is the first Disney character to ever fart onscreen!
- The Lion King could've sounded way different, Sean Connery was considered for the part of Mufasa while Eddie Murphy was almost offered the role of Timon! And Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella, the voices of Timon and Pumba, originally came into read for Hyena roles!
I just can't imagine what this movie would've sounded like with Sean Connery as Mufasa! I suppose it would've been fine if we never heard James Earl Jones in the role, but I think that James basically owned that role! LOL!
