Well, I survived another week! Still no movement on the job search, I'm still trying though. I just keep applying for everything and anything that I think would be the right move for me. Let's hope 2020 is really my year!
I attended my first signing of the year this week! It was with Brigid Kemmerer, Sarah Henning, and Rena Barron! It was a lot of fun too! I got to see some familiar faces in the audience again that I haven't seen in awhile! It was the most social I've been since my last author event in November! Lol! Sadly, I had to cancel my second signing of the year up in Naperville. The signing itself wasn't cancelled but the weather did not look pleasant for my drive which is about 4.5 hours each way and while the drive isn't a bothersome other than length, I just didn't want to add snowy/rainy mix to the darkened night I'd be driving in. So it was with a heavy heart that I made that decision Friday afternoon.
So all in all, the week was riddle with good and bad to pretty much even out into a shrug. Lol.
Here's what I ended up getting this week, surprisingly it's mostly keeper copies, so not much added to the TBR pile! I went to B&N three times this week to pick all these babies up! It started with picking up my Tuesday releases, then Chosen finally went on sale so I picked that one up and when I decided I had to cancel my road trip for safety reasons I went and bought my keeper copy of The Night Country before it got ucky!
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo, Louise Simonson, & Ill. by Kit Seaton--Keeper Copy!
Chosen by Kiersten White--Keeper Copy
A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer--B&N Keeper Copy & SIGNED! (I just forgot to take a picture of that signature! Whoops! Lol)
The Night Country by Melissa Albert--B&N Keeper Copy!
For review I received:
Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth (ARC)
THANK YOU John Joseph Adams/HMH!
Other fun goodies:
NEW Bookish T-Shirts!! My favorite site had a sale awhile back, BOGO! I couldn't say no to BOGO! So I bought a bookish shirt that speaks the truth and a Christmas bookish shirt because I somehow did not have one in my collection! How did I let that happen?! It might be hard to read but it says: Rudolph the Well-Read Reindeer!
And that was it for me this week! Not too bad all things considered! What did you all get?
You're hardcore even considering driving 4.5 hours for a signing. I hem and haw at the short train ride to NYC for events. It was a good one though.
ReplyDeleteThat is a long drive even with great weather. Sorry you had to cancel though. Book signings are fun so I understand not wanting to miss one :) I love the shirts you picked up! I hope you have a great week and enjoy all of your new reads!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a great time at the author's event, Jessica. It sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy your new books! I enjoyed Wonder Woman: Warbringer. I love your new shirts! I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting on my BN copy of AHSFAB! I loved that book so much! That signing sounds incredible!
ReplyDeleteHoping to read Chosen and The Night Country in the coming weeks! Very excited!

I saw CJ went to the Melissa Albert event, it looked fun and I'm sorry I forgot about it (although I probably shouldn't be traveling that far).
ReplyDeleteSounds like your new year is off to a good start!
Sorry you couldn't make it up to Anderson's, but you probably made a good choice considering the weather. Love that Rudolph reading shirt!!

I love your bookish t-shirts!
ReplyDeleteAlso, 8+ hours driving in bad weather doesn't sound too appealing but it sounds like the first signing was a good time! :D
