Today I share with you some fun facts from the 2020 Disney Desk Calendar. These were things I might not have known or really realized that sounded like fun things to share!

Ariel's six sisters are: Aquata, Attina, Alana, Andrina, Adella, and Arista. "Alana" was chose by screenwriters John Musker and Ron Clements to honor Alan Menken, the composer of The Little Mermaid. Attina was named after an early Menken musical called Attina: Evil Queen of the Galaxy.

That is so cool! I didn't not know this about these sisters!

Harryhausen's Restaurant from Monsters, Inc. was named after Ray Harryhausen, the legendary stop-motion animator whose monster movie innovations inspired many filmmakers.

I didn't know who Ray Harryhausen was, if anything I thought the restaurant was named for a Harry Hausen! Lol!

Beauty and the Beast was the first animated Disney film to be written by a woman, Linda Woolverton. She later adapted the film fort he Broadway musical and received a Tony nomination for Best Book of a Musical. She also wrote Maleficent and its sequel.

As a kid I never really paid attention to things like names during the credits. But knowing this now, that's awesome!

One fine day in the summer of 1994, Pixar story artists decided to brainstorm new ideas as Toy Story was just about under wraps. That day at lunch, they created the ideas of A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and WALL - E--which was originally titled Trash Planet.

That's awesome! I mean, I remembered being baffled by seeing things like Nemo in Monsters, Inc., which came out after this movie!

In 1944, the U.S. government borrowed footage of the fire scene in Bambi from Walt Disney in order to start a forest fire prevention program. It was so successful the Forest Service created a new character for the campaign, of the one and only, Smokey the Bear!

That's amazing!

In Toy Story 2, when the Etch A Sketch copies down the map to Al's Toy Barn, the address 1001 West Cutting Blvd is actually the address for the former Pixar Animations Studios in Richmond, CA!

These are the fun little facts I love to learn!
