This week's question is: Have you ever read a book written in a foreign language you might be
fluent in, and then read the same book in English? (submitted by Maria @

MY ANSWER: Nope. I'm not fluent enough in another language. I mean I have read UK books when US ones weren't available! So it's from another country...just not a foreign language!
Sadly, I am only fluent in English, but I did take a fairy tale and folk traditions class (upper college level German class), and we read the works of the brothers Grimm. I also read a copy of Winnie Ille Pu (Winnie the Pooh) for my advanced Latin class.
ReplyDeleteI don't speak any foreign languages.

I'm always jealous of people who are fluent in more than one language. So impressive!

Haha. I love your answer. Technically, you're right that UK books are from another country.
ReplyDeleteGreat answer! I'm also not that fluent in other languages myself, although I've studied Spanish a bit when I was in high school. Thanks for checking out my blog hop!
ReplyDeleteI'm not fluent in another language either :(
ReplyDeleteI only read in my native language. I've read short stories in Spanish...years ago. But I couldn't read an entire book in Spanish.
