10. OLD MAGIC by Marianne Curley--I've talked a lot about this one! Time traveling, romance, magic, curses...it's just awesome!
9. DEMON IN MY VIEW by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes--my first vampire read! A young writer discovers the vampires she writes about are very real and aren't too pleased with her for sharing their secrets!
8. THE SILVER KISS by Annette Curtis Klause--a teen vampire romance, not quite so typical as you might think! The vamp's younger brother who's an older vamp (yes it's that twisted) is on a murder spree and he's determined to stop him!
7. THE NAMED by Marianne Curley--more time traveling, but this time it's by a cast of teens who do it to keep the timeline the same whereas their enemies want to change things for their own gain!
6. BLUE IS FOR NIGHTMARES by Laurie Faria Stolarz--my first taste of a YA thriller! A girl who gets nightmares that can lead to bad things if ignored. And her best friend is being stalked.
5. COMPANIONS OF THE NIGHT by Vivian Vande Velde--one I read sooooo long ago! I think I even donated my copy when I was trying to be all "adult" like when I was a teen. What was I thinking? It's a teen vampire romance, but the romance was quite different! I do remember enjoying it! Vivian had a very different kind of style from what I recall and I loved her books!
4. BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE by Annette Curtis Klause--my first teen werewolf romance! And I LOOOVED IT!! Do yourself a favor, don't see the movie because it will ruin it for you. It's an okay movie, but the book was phenomenal! There's also a very good mystery surrounding it and it too has a surprising ending!
3. THE FORBIDDEN GAME TRILOGY by L.J. Smith--my first L.J. series! It was awesome!! Jenny and her friends play a game where they're forced to face their greatest fears. Only thing is, they were literally sucked into the game and are literally facing their fears head on!
2. ROSWELL HIGH by Melinda Metz--I started watching the TV series and then I discovered there was a book series! Belatedly I learned the series came first and it makes sense since I was seeing sooo many differences in the book then the show! I later went on to read every Roswell book adaptation there was! I especially enjoyed the short little series that picked up where the show left off!
1. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: THE AWAKENING by L.J. Smith--the original Vampire Diaries! Don't be fooled by the later books, those aren't truly L.J. beyond The Return trilogy. This was our original teen vampire romance series I feel like! LOL! While I did like how this series ended at book 4, I did think the newer series was pretty good. Though vastly different, I think the timeline got messed up too since our graduating class of 92 or 93 suddenly had cell phones as their town went into chaos! Lol!!
