Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

This was yet another ultra calm week. Even with the holiday that was sort of surprising! I even got Black Friday off for the first time in 2 years and I was soooo excited! Turn of bad luck though, this was the year that my family literally didn't go out at all after saying they were going out at all. Typical. While I did score some good deals on my DVDs that I am always after, 2 weren't on sale whatsoever so I'm constantly checking them online elsewhere and I did get like 95% of my Christmas shopping done! I'm already terrified of my credit card bill because I also had to add on there my bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding next year. It wasn't overly expensive, but it's still a good chunk of money. I'm thinking I'm close to gift cards from B&N after all is said and done!*

*note this is just my slightly pessimistic side talking. But granted, I mostly say these things to myself so that when I am proven wrong, I can sigh with relief! But there will definitely be one gift card earning involved!

So I actually didn't buy any books this week! I did preorder one for next week...deliberately about ordering myself a few more too! But here's my bookish goodies that I did receive this week:

Firstly, my first ever Christmas Book Sleeve and it's PERFECT! I messaged the Bookkeeper Boutique about a custom order print. I've mentioned my weird obsession with gingerbread cookies around Christmastime and she found this adorable print and I was SO happy with it! I ordered the Papa size because that seems to be the best fit for the majority of my hardcovers. I probably need to do a Mama size just to see how well it can hold a paperback. The Baby size is mostly for Kindle tablets and mine's already in a decent enough case.

Then last week Out of Print was having a sale of some sort...I think it was Free Shipping that time and I ordered these socks that I had my eye on when they sent a previous email of goodies to buy! And they came this week too!

They say: Books Turn Muggles into Wizards! I loved it so much and I thought, you can never have too many socks. (seriously, I have sooo many socks! and only a small percentage of them are "fun" socks like these! LOL!!)

And then I got my OwlCrate box for November! The book wasn't what I was guessing it to be. I'm a little on the fence about it, but still keeping it for now! I'll show a picture of the contents later this month! Possibly later this week on Instagram once I take some pics later today!

And finally, I received a surprise of my Renegades preorder swag! I was suspecting this was another preorder gift and hadn't turned the envelope over prior to opening, so it was quite a surprise in a sense!

According to the quiz I took, I was a Renegade, so naturally, I followed the rules and picked that one when filling out my form!

So that was my week! No books, but still some awesome goodies!! What did you all get?

  1. I think I have like 3 Christmas gifts purchased. I just don't know what to get for anyone. --sigh-- I may just write checks, because I hate going out to shop. Cute sleeve! It's nice that they were able to make what you wanted.

  3. Is the Owlcrate book the one by Lauren Destefano? Because I thought about buying this month's Owlcrate, but now I'm kind of glad I didn't. I didn't really enjoy Lauren's Wither books.

    Also, cute socks. :)

  5. Your sleeve is so cute! I'm sure they could sell some of their own Christmas themed prints, too. I am seriously flat out of ideas on what to buy The Man for Christmas. I've got to get my shit together and get things ordered!

  8. Black Friday is the most wonderful time of the year. =P You can get all the Christmas presents for so little - although, I must confess that everything I bought was for myself and I couldn't resist some book discounts.

The book sleeve is super cute. *.*

    Happy readings! ;)

  11. What a cute Christmas sleeve for the holidays! I would be taking it everywhere and whipping it to spread the cheer, lol. I'm also pretty much done my shopping too, just a few tough people to figure out presents for :D

  12. I'm a weirdo who has to know what the OwlCrate books are so I totally stalked all of the October/November releases to see which ones sounded the most similar.

And I think I want a book sleeve now - they're soo cute!
