Stacking the Shelves--The Birthday Edition

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

Hey all! This week wasn't too bad in the long run! I only worked 2.5 days so it was definitely happier! Lol. Sadly, I feel like I'm in that rut of the year where companies are posting jobs that they need fill, but they don't plan on doing anything with any applicants until New Year because it's just been meh trying to find a job these last few weeks. I had one phone interview at the beginning of the month and was told "one way or another" they'd let me know if I was going to the next round. So yeah...nothing happened there. Sigh...I realllllly hope 2020 will be my year.

But this was still a decent week goodie wise! It was my birthday Monday, and while I didn't ask for any books, I did get some spiffy new gift cards to B&N and Amazon!

Here's what I got this week:

I received my TBTBSanta gift which was filled with all sorts of nice things!! I got:
Frost and Flame by Gena Showalter
Mirror, Mirror by Jen Calonita
Reflection by Elizabeth Lim
Adorable Disney prints
a candle
a Supernatural themed keychain
Reese's peanut butter cups!

THANK YOU AGAIN Lauren!

Spectacular birthday gift:

A Caraval themed cup that is positively gorgeous from A History Girls Fandoms on Etsy

Things I bought myself for my birthday or just because! Lol

Then I found myself ordering this Haunted Mansion Pop that I missed! I tried buying it from a site earlier, but it was taken from my cart as I was adding things.

Then in a trade I got the second Fairy Loot Secret Book Box! I loved this one even more than the first, so I was happy to have found it with a trader!

THANK YOU Katie!

Then I also bought:

Underline...or Penguin Random House sent me a birthday coupon to get HALF off my purchase at Out of Print clothing! Then Out of Print had the sweatshirt I was eyeing on SALE...and I got HALF OFF THE SALE PRICE!! And then there was FREE SHIPPING! I got SO lucky with the timing of this purchase! Lol.

And finally I received a preorder gift for one of my 2020 books...the book isn't even out yet but I was stoked to get this early:

The short little bonus story The Boy Who Didn't Come Home by Melissa Albert!

THANK YOU Flatiron Books!

And that was it for me! I did get a few other non-bookish birthday goodies, but I try to keep this post filled with the acquired books, bookish, or Disney related items! ;)

What did you all get this week?

  1. You what I say - new year, new job. That's my goal, since they are changing our work day, and I will be getting home so late once it starts. I leave at 5:50 am, I don't need to be working/traveling until 6:30 at night. I don't make enough money to warrant that long a day. Hopefully the universe will be good to us both. Happy holidays and enjoy all your new goodies!

  5. Happy belated birthday! And I know what you mean, this time of the year everyone just checks out and it does seem like everything gets put on hold. But take this time to wind down, relax, and enjoy the holidays! I have a good feeling 2020 will be your year!
