This week's question is: Happy Father’s Day! Who is your favorite dad character in a book and why?
MY ANSWER: Uh oh! This is hard! There aren't usually too many parents in my books!
He just seemed to be a very considerate parent and was actually there in the series more than most YA parents.
But naturally one dad that is standing out to me, who was actually a pretty good character and parent was none other than Jessie's dad in the 13 to Life series!
TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.
This week's question is: Most Valuable Book: From your personal collection of books, which ones
hold the most value to you - is it signed by the author? or maybe it's
your favorite story of all time? Share it with us.
MY ANSWER: Oh wow. Surprisingly, this is a REALLY hard one!!
First off, I treasure all my books! I hold all my signed copies dear to my heart too!
But in lieu of answering the question I'd say that would probably be the ARC copy of Spy Glass by Maria V. Sndyer!
I fell in looooove with her books when I happened to pick up Poison Study. And I picked that up because at the time Amazon recommended Magic Study to me before it released so I had to do the reverse research to find Poison Study and be reassured that it was book 1 (I started Kim Harrison's series by starting the second book by mistake before I realized it and backtracked to get book 1!).
So I became an author stalker of sorts! I enter Maria's contest she always has for her current book and since the release of Magic Study I have been the first person to submit the answers!
And after Sea Glass--I believe--I got an extra special gift and that was an ARC of Spy Glass! It was a good thing I was home alone that day because I was shouting for joy!!
Maria is without a doubt my favorite fantasy author! Her books are just so incredible! They're fantasy, but not the LOTR high fantasy type, there's really nothing overly confusing about the worlds she creates! They're just freaking incredible!
Since that was the first time I managed to get an ARC from her, that is probably one of the most treasured copies I own!
And there are lots more that I treasure and can tell stories about, but this post ran long enough I think!!
I don't know the book "13 to life" ... but I'll be sure to look it up on goodreads.
ReplyDeleteAs for the second question, this is gonna sound really cheesy, but my most treasured book in my personal collection is an old, old, old book of the Cinderella story ~ the art work is beautiful, shows Cinderella each night of the ball with her fancy dress and undo hair. My Mum used to read it to me; I loved it so much I had every word memorized. Yep, that book was da bomb. Still is.
Here's my FFF post.
Agree! I completely forgot about 13 to Life! Her dad was awesome!

Yes I still need to read 13 to Life! Cool that so many books you have read feature great dads. I was having trouble thinking of any. Usually the parents are absent. I haven't read anything by Maria V. Sndyer yet but I have Touch of Power on my kindle and heard amazing things about the Poison Studies series. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThey were quite hard this week lol. I dont tend to read fantasy books so I havent read any of your authors books yet, but I am well impressed with just the cover alone x
ReplyDeleteTwo tough questions this week!! I haven't heard of either of these books. Congrats on your win!
