This week's topic is: Top Ten Best/Worst Movie Adaptations
*in no particular order
**Okay the order goes:
Book 1 one that I read and need to see and it's sitting on my desk
3 that are being made into movies with releases coming out soon-ish,
3 where I liked the book better,
3 where the movie was as awesome as the book!
1. Warm Bodies
Okay, technically this one's out, but I have yet to see it. It's sitting on my desk, waiting for when I have time to watch it! So yes, I have high hopes for this one!
2. Divergent
OMG...so can't wait for this one! Loved the book, still have to read Insurgent! And I looooove Theo James! I have hopes that he can totally rock Four!
3. Vampire Academy (Blood Sisters)
Next year will totally rock for movies! Sooooo cannot wait to see this one finally come to life!
4. Hush, Hush
This is one that I know people either love or hate--although that can be said of any book really! But I really enjoyed this first one at least and I sooo cannot wait to see the movie!
5. Jaws
This was one where I actually liked the movie better. But I first must say I watched the movie like a thousand times as a kid before I ever read the book as an adult, so that's probably why!
6. Blood and Chocolate
This one was challenging. I LOVED the book. The movie, SUCKED as a movie based on a book, but the movie was pretty good on its own. Does that make any sense?
7. Timeline
This was one where the book was definitely a LOT better than the movie. But then again, the movie had to cut a LOT out.
8. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
While all the Harry Potter movies were good, I thought the first one was incredible! It stayed pretty true to the novel!
9. A Walk to Remember
The ONLY Nicholas Sparks book I ever read and it was at a time when I didn't have a lot of Paranormals to read, aka the Dark Times! The book was pretty good and I loved the movie adaptation despite some of the changes!
10. The Princess Bride
Yet another one where I grew up on the movie and didn't read the book til years later! I LOVE this movie and I LOVED the book too! Both were just awesome!
We are looking forward to seeing the DIVERGENT movie too! I liked "A Walk To Remember" better as the book.

I wish I had remembered A Walk To Remember for my list. I really enjoyed it. Fab list :-)
ReplyDeleteWait... there's going to be a Hush Hush movie? I hadn't heard that. I loved the book - I hope they do it justice.
ReplyDeleteTTT @ Krista's Dust Jacket
That would be weird. I enjoyed this story and hope you do too. My teasers this week are from Playing to Win by Jaci Burton and Wednesdays in the Tower by Jessica Day George. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! It piqued my curiosity. Thanks for sharing...and here's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! I'm hoping to read Of Poseidon before the end of the summer.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Teasers
Also great top ten list. I totally know what you mean about how some adaptations are great as stand-alone movies, but terrible as adaptations because they don't stick to the book. I thought the recent Beautiful Creatures was like that. My sisters didn't understand why I didn't like it, and I had to explain that, on its own, it was fine, but just very different from book. Great list!

Haha it's a double meme! I loved Of Poseidon I hope you are liking it so far!

ReplyDeleteI agree with the HP comment! :D I read Hush Hush a couple years ago and I really don't remember much of it. It was before I started reviewing books. I think I should read it again. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that teaser and I love that cover! OMG, it just makes me want to read it already. :)
Thanks for visiting my blog! :D

Teaser Tuesdays
An interesting teaser. I did not know Divergent was being made into a movie. Yet another book I need to get my hands on! I'd say the worst adaptation was Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. I had fun on the 4th of July, picking apart the movie with a friend's son. My teaser: Breakfast at Tiffany’s
ReplyDeleteI liked A Walk to Remember. I didn't know about The Vampire Academy coming out in a movie. That will be interesting to watch. Hopefully Hollywood does a better job then what they did with Twilight.
ReplyDeleteI was not a huge fan of Of Poseidon, but there are definitely some great lines in it! :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser!
As for your movies... I quite enjoyed the Warm Bodies movie, though the tone is much lighter than the book, and I am absolutely dying to see Divergent! :)
