This week's question is: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

MY ANSWER: I guess for me it will always be a paranormal read. I wouldn't say it's a guilty pleasure, because I have freely admitted that I have enjoyed such reads even before I knew that it was a genre. When I was 13 I read my first vampire book and became hooked with anything "weird" or what is now known as paranormal reads. I would read ghosts, werewolves, whatever I could find that wasn't "normal" and believe me, it would be a long trip to Borders looking for such reads but they were always worth it!

  4. Ohh I have to agree. Paranormal Romance is the genre that I feel is a guilty pleasure for me just because I usually enjoy it a lot! The Sookie Stackhouse series is a guilty pleasure of mine, I always find myself reading the next book in the series when I'm in a reading slump. Those books always cheer me up!

  8. I'm a big paranormal fan. I used to kind of feel like it was a guilty pleasure until Twilight hit it big and PNR became popular. But at the same time, why feel guilty about something you enjoy to read, right?

  16. I get the hiding the cover thing you mentioned on my post. Because I'm an adult and I'm reading YA books, sometimes if it's really clearly YA, I get a little self conscious. Particularly since I ride metro/subway to work. That means hundreds of people can see what I'm reading.

  17. Yes to the paranormal reads, and again with them not really being a guilty pleasure! I never really feel guilty about the genres I read, but the certain things in the story that happen that I tend to hold onto... New follower via GFC!

  18. Paranormal books are so much fun. Personally, I'm a sucker for ghost stories. If there is a ghost in the book, I have to read it. :)

  21. Hehe, I used Paranormal reads for my answer too! :D For some reason, anything normal or contemporary related usually bores me to tears.
