So kind of twisting this one because it was just asked to the author about his favorite villain. He chose The Horned King from The Black Cauldron since most of the other villains were more humorous like Madam Mim or Cruella...I never did see this one but yeah, dude's creepy!

Walt Disney apparently liked using the technique of starting the movie by using a book to open the scene and introduce you to the story! I enjoyed this motif as well! As you can see Snow White was one of them, as well as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, The Jungle Book, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Enchanted!

Snow White like many other stories has no determined time. The original Grimm story was published in 1812, so it "obviously" occurs before then.

In order to stay somewhat financially afloat in the postwar years in the 1940s Disney kept the company going by producing short cartoons, educational films, "and package features which were shorts and featurettes tied together and released as features, as well as producing merchandise. By the 1950s he had a hit with Cinderella, had started the True-Life Adventures, and was about to embark in the fields of TV and theme parks."

Sebastian's full name is "Horatio Felonious Ignacious Crustaceous Sebastian".

Apparently Disney was initially in preliminary discussions regarding turning this story into an animated feature. It never really made it past those discussions though!
