Waiting on Wednesday

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you're continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here.

Nikolai Lantsov has always had a gift for the impossible. No one knows what he endured in his country’s bloody civil war—and he intends to keep it that way. Now, as enemies gather at his weakened borders, the young king must find a way to refill Ravka’s coffers, forge new alliances, and stop a rising threat to the once-great Grisha Army.

Yet with every day a dark magic within him grows stronger, threatening to destroy all he has built. With the help of a young monk and a legendary Grisha Squaller, Nikolai will journey to the places in Ravka where the deepest magic survives to vanquish the terrible legacy inside him. He will risk everything to save his country and himself. But some secrets aren’t meant to stay buried—and some wounds aren’t meant to heal.

Despite being extremely excited for this one, I can honestly say that I will likely be waiting until 2020 to read it with its sequel! I've found that I am wayyy better with reading duologies back to back instead of suffering with cliffhanger-itis! Lol.

  1. The only the SoC duology by Bardugo, but it was fantastic! I notice more stuff when I read series all together too. Details that I would forget in a year's time.

  6. I agree about duologies, that's a good point. They are much more enjoyable I think read back-to-back.
